  1. That is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Price=What you are willing to spend on a rod is all that really matters when it comes to price. Performance=What works best for you or what is a Luxury for you. Most people would consider the higher end rods a Luxury to use. You could get by with less, or you could spend the money to use a Luxury item. I know that is kind of not the answers you are looking for. But consider this. I spent $400 on a Steez rod. Is it better than a $350 GLX, or a $200 Cumara, or a $130 Crucial, or a $60 BPS rod? Well what is your definition of better. What does a rod have to offer for you to consider it worth the price? Is it the modules, guides, reel seat, handle, weight or looks? I's all pretty relative when you think about it. I caught fish for many years on Lightning Rods from Wal-Mart. In fact, I thought I was in the Big Leagues because I was using them. Now I probably won't catch any more fish with a rod that was 10x more expensive. But for me. My Steez was worth every penny. I absolutely love everything about it. I don't know how my Steez compares to a GLX. I have never used a GLX. But I know that I am very happy with my Steez. The price wasn't an issue. If it was, I may have bought a St. Croix Legend, or another Carrot. But I wanted what I consider to be an enthusiast rod. My ramblings may not have made much sense, but I will leave you with this. I can get from point A to point B on a bike, or I can drive a Geo Metro, or I can drive a BMW. Is the BMW THAT much greater than the GEO? It depends on who is driving it. It also all depends on how much you want to spend. There is a difference in performance, but there is also a bit of Luxury involved.
  3. You will love those HSTA's. They are a little wide, but they are super smooth reels.
  4. When I decided to buy me Steez it all came down to preference. I could have got an equal rod or better rod performance wise for equal or lesser money. But I wanted to mount my Steez reel on a Steez rod.
  5. For mono I use 12lb Sufix elite and I love it.
  6. I would go with the Daiwa Zillion 7.1:1 if it were me. I don't know if you want to spend that much or not. I have used both reels and the Daiwa feels much better than the Curado.
  7. I sold all my Shimano reels and now I fish Daiwa, I have never been happier.
  8. I own the 6'9" Mh and the 6'9" M-P. If it were me, and I needed a rod to throw spinnerbaits and crankbaits. I would definately choose the M-P. I threw spinnerbaits and crankbaits yesterday with the 6'9" M-P and had no problems, in fact, I loved it. I used the 6'9" MH for throwing soft plastics. I am stll waiting on my Steez, so the Carrot had to be used as a soft plastic rod. It actually performed VERY WELL. You will not be disappointed no matter which rod you choose. With that being said, if it is for cranks or spinners only, I would go with the Medium Parabolic rod. It is an absolute great rod.
  9. I have owned both reels and here is my opinion. The Curado is a great reel, and I honestly can't say one bad thing about it. The Advantage is also a super smooth reel. It is a bit wider than the Curado 100 but it is lower profile than a 200. I am not sure what Curado you are looking at. The 90mm swept handle on the Advantage is a big bonus. Also I prefer the way the brakes adjust on the Daiwa much better than the Shimano. The Advantage is a great casting reel. If you are going to get a new reel, I would suggest the Daiwa. Actually I would step up to the Zillion, but if you don't have the extra money, I would stay with the Daiwa.
  10. I have a 7'3" MH Casting that I will sell you for $140 shipped. You will have it by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
  11. I just ordered mine. A Diawa Steez 100HA that will set on a Daiwa Steez 7'Mh rod. $449+$400=$849 I can't wait to get this in. Hurry up FedEx, but be gentle.
  12. I have a combo that I would be willing to sell you. A Shimano Curado 100D on a Shimano Crucial 6'10" MH rod. This is a great all-around setup. The rod and reel both look brand new.
  13. I have an idea what rod RW is going to recommend.
  14. I have only taken it out twice. But I guess it is my NEW favorite. Because I love throwin a crank. 6'9" M-P Carrot Stix Shimano Chronarch 50Mg 10lb XPS Flouro
  15. I have a 6'9" M-P that I use for crankbaits. I actually have only got to take it out once, but I really like the way it felt. I have a Chronarch 50Mg on it and it is super light. I also have a 7'3" MH but haven't got my Chronarch in the mail yet. I plan on throwing a T-rig with it.
  16. I don't really think he would get full price plus shipping. You can get them for full price with no shipping on Ebay and TW. SO a discount might need to be made.
  17. Sorry guys if this particular question has been answered. I tried searching but couldn't find it. I am going with a new set-up this year for t-rigging. I want to try the Berkley Fluoro. I was wondering if you guys would go with the 12lb or 15lb? I am wondering if it is personal preference, or if there is actually some reasoning involved. Thanks, JB BTW. My set-up will be a Chronarch 50Mg and a 7'3" MH Carrot Stix
  18. Raul, you must be like me. Have a few too many Cold ones and you get on line and place an order. I usually remember it the next morning, but I don't regret it til the wife finds out.
  19. I don't intend to highjack the thread. I just didn't want to start another XPS flouro thread. I put the 10 lb on my crankait rod and was wonering if I could use it on everything besides my top water setups. Could I go with it on my spinnerbait rod and my t-rig rod? If so should I go 12 on sp, and 14 on t-rig? Thanks, JB
  20. I bet it cost me a lot more than $10 to ship it. And he won't have to wait 3 months on his rebate. After paypal expenses and my shipping costs I will probably make $120 maybe. So on second thought maybe $150 is a fair deal.
  21. I have a Citica 100DSV that has never been used and a BPS Extreme 7'MH rod that I might let go for $150 if you are interested.
  22. I just got mine ready to go. And now it is snowing, so it may be a while before I get out. The only nice days I have had this year I was busy. Oh well, I am ready.
  23. The Buzz Throb is far and away the best buzz bait there is. They are just so hard to find. I live in Stratford, OK the original home of Hart Tackle. I have been using a Buzz throb since they were first introduced. Not too many people know of Hart Tackle so I was glad to see someone mention them.
  24. I have never had a problem with any of my Shimano's. I started with 4 Citica's then 4 Curado's and a Chronarch 50Mg. No problems with any of them, perfect right out of the box. However, I bought one of the TD-Z's from Cabelas and it felt terrible. I also realize it probably had been setting a while and needed to be oiled, but I just sold it anyway. JB
