  1. 7' MH baitcaster primarily for A jig. 6'6" MH baitcaster primarily for spinnerbait 6'6" MH spinning primarily for my trig worms.
  2. x2
  3. My stuff is in my office. I am constantly tuning and tweaking my tacklebag to fit more in.
  4. How do you rig the shellcracker on the swimming?
  5. Welcome fellow New Yorker!
  6. I use 10lb PP(regular) with an 8lb Invizx leader for my drop shot. I use a double uni to bring them together. Works great!
  7. I do it all the time. I use a longer leader.
  8. Its described as a heavy salted bait so it should be more like a proper stick bait. Can't wait!
  9. Ever have one of those moments when you see a lure and say "Dammit I knew it was a good idea". Well this one smacked me right across the face. One of the ways I fish a senko is like a soft jerkbait. It has caught me a ton of fish. What a great idea. Looking forward to this one
  10. I have an "emergency" rod/reel setup in the trunk of my car for those Emergency Bassin' moments. In the heat of the summer am I ruining the braid that I have on? So far I see no problems but thought I would ask before I land into a lunker and break-off.
  11. If it permits throw a 3/8oz Jig and find out what's down there by dragging it back to you. Might help you figure things out a bit more.
  12. Doubt it ... they just moved elsewhere or maybe are deeper. Also could be that they are in that "summer slump" which means they are lethargic and you need to hit them over the head with the bait before you will get bit.
  13. I like using a Gammy 1/0 weedless split shot/drop shot hook. I cast it out, let it sink to the bottom, Give it a good lift off the bottom and then let it sink again. Repeat back to the boat. If you rip it off the bottom aggressively enough you will feel the wiggles of both sides of the worm. Sometimes they want that aggressive twitch. Other times a smoother lift is needed. This setup also worked for me skipping under trees and docks.
  14. I use a Rapsody 7' MH with an Extra Fast tip. Throw primarily jigs and T-Rigged punch baits (beavers, craws etc.) up to 1oz. http://rapsodyfishing.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=60_63&product_id=54
  15. x3 If you really want to have some fun with it tie it to a tree in the park and act like you are reeling in a Big-un.
  16. Had it happen to me in a tournament just a few weeks ago. Was working topwater (Zara Spook Jr) when I got into what felt like a nice size bass. SNAP! There goes my lure and the bass. The kicker is we returned later to that spot just to find my lure floating along with all the line I lost. Sickening feeling but at least I got my lure back. LOL
  17. Try just before sunrise and into the AM.
  18. There is a few possibilities ... 1 - What size reel did you spool this on? The smaller spools seem to show this problem more than larger spools. 2 - Counter-clockwise is correct but how fast did you reel it on your spool? I found that when I reel a spool fast I add too many twists into the line. That causes it to be a big PIA when you finally get done. When I reel it on slow and steady with a few squirts of KVD from time to time reduces that twist. As a sidebar Invizx is much more manageable.
  19. There is a lot to love about the new Rage Products. I cant wait to try the new DB Craw, and Cut Tail worm!
  20. Nice fish ... I am finding more and more excuses why to have it rigged on. I went through numerous drop shot setup's until I came across one which I love. Here's what I use. 10lb Braid with an 8lb InvizX leader. Tied with a Double Uni Knot. 1/0 EWG hook 3/16 weight Right now I throw a bunch of finesse worms. Zoom, Strike King and Roboworm. Caught me 3 great fish at my tournament last weekend. Keep at it. The drop shot rocks!
  21. I found out the hard way that there is a difference between a silicone spray and a true conditioner. When using Reel Magic I didn't notice much of a difference in the way the line behaved when I let it soak overnight. After some research I discovered the KVD Lure and Line Conditioner and noticed a considerable difference in line behavior doing the same thing. I switched to the KVD stuff and never looked back.
  22. Thanks for the input guys. I decided to try out the following setup based on feedback here and some tournament buddies who are big in this technique. 6'6" MH Fast Tip 6.4:1 Reel 17lb P-Line CoPoly Took the Zara Spook out for a test drive this AM and boy did it work. 4 fish in about an hour and a half! I had much better action and when I did get a strike the stretch in the P-Line kept me from ripping it from them. Tonight I am going to try the smaller walk the dog's to see how this rig works out across all the sizes. It's a little blurry but here's a pic of the biggest one I caught. I would say it was around 2-2.5 lbs. https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/998733_10151784789019238_1590519048_n.jpg Thanks a ton for your help. I am well on my way ...
  23. Wow. I love my Max reels. They get a ton of use and not a single issue. I own 3 Silver Max and one Pro Max. Is it the Silver Max 2 you bought? The older model Max's stunk.
  24. Love em. I think I have every color with Mr all the time. Lol
  25. I starting keeping a journal on Google earth. Record spots and note what I used, water temp etc. Just remember to backup often!
