  1. I got hooked on finesse techniques. The Mojo Rig has been my savior this year. Love that d**n rig!
  2. From the album: Not so lunker

This little 4+ inch bass must have really wanted that 4" Keitech. Man what a little hit! LOL

    Not so lunker

Pictures of some of the smallest bass biting my lures. I think they are funny.
  4. Megastrike jigs will make anything stand up! Lol
  5. I would love the PA 12 but MAN ... what a pricetag!
  6. I travel a lot for work and always try to find spots to fish wherever I end up. A lot of times people are not open about "honey holes" so I end up doing as much research as possible to get to fish. More often than not it doesn't work in my favor. If the price was reasonable (less than $30/ half-day) I might actually do something like this. But I need to be able to rent a kayak or boat as well to take advantage of the larger bodies of water.
  7. I would love to get into fishing from a Kayak but I am over the weight limit for most of the smaller Kayak's. Suggestions for fishing kayaks for the "Fluffy" guys.
  8. Is the Fountainhead bass club only a boater league? No co-anglers? If they do offer the opportunity to be a co-angler that is one of the best ways to learn. I was only fishing for a few months and decided to join the league as a co-angler. Two years later I am holding my own with the boaters. The best way to learn on the water if you don't own a boat IMO! as a sidebar this forum is the best "off the water" learning!
  9. Jigs - Ordered the Bassresource "special" jigs from Siebert Outdoors. Looking to put these to the test this weekend if they get here in time for my tourney.
  10. Bobby is that the Lavendar Shad or Ghost Minnow? Looks like the ghost minnow.
  11. Fishing from any kind of vessel (boat, canoe, kayak etc.) it seems to come down to one thing IMO and that is boat control. Managing how you are going into your areas, avoid overrunning your spot, drift control etc. I found myself working more on those things than fishing when I first got out there. Once this became 2nd nature it began feeling like bank fishing again. Focused on structure, the presentation etc. Still working on the fishfinder thing to take it to another level.
  12. I concur. Their fight is downright awesome. Even the dinks put up a nice fight. LOL Nice fish.
  13. Another vote for the s11's. I have 3 pair. One in their smoke color and 2 in their amber color. Great glasses at a great price. Smoke - clear/bluebird days Amber - Any other time.
  14. I was with a lot of the others and began using it as leader material until yesterday. Twice I put 8lb vanish on my 10lb Power Pro. Both times I was fighting a decent bass and the line snapped. When I reeled it in I saw the leader was off and the snap was at the double-uni. The knot was still in tact and the fluor above the knot was there. That has never happened to me with any other leader material. It could be 2 bad knots but I tied the 3rd with Berkley 100% FC and fished the rest of the day with zero issues.
  15. IMO it went over the top when competitors started stacking the A-Rigs. That's just a bit too much for me. I'm ok with the ban at the Elite level. Hard to watch a show when all they are doing is throwing an A-Rig.
  16. Wondering what you use for very clear water spinner bait fishing. Not brand but weight, head and skirt color, blade configuration.
  17. If I add up all the soft plastics that I own (and most likely never get through) I could afford a few high end lures. As others have said different strokes ... It's just fishing and you only live once!
  18. That is an AWESOME pic!
  19. d**n ... now this one is going to stick in my head next weekend. I'm going to fall in the water if I lead out with my left and try to stop myself. LOL
  20. For $5 you can get the Velcro Cable Ties in home depot and put them in any plano you already own. Not to mention you can keep the velcro cable tie on the rig, tie the rig on your rod and then simply remove the velcro tie when you are ready to fish it.
  21. I was trying to figure out a simple way to pre-rig an Alabama Rig and put it in a Plano or on a rod/reel. I tried several approaches and I think this one is the best. Velcro cable ties can be found at Wally World, Staples etc. They can be reused very easily. http://s1333.photobucket.com/user/bronxsalsero/media/IMG_20130829_122849_704_zps7340f105.jpg.html
  22. So does this mean the Bassmaster Weekend Series itself is done or will there be two? The ABA's Weekend Bass Tour and the Bassmaster Weekend Series?
  23. I am NOT one of those fans which will be lost because of this. I am a big fan of the FLW broadcast. They do more than most to describe the conditions, lure and if you watch the angler you can get a sense of their presentation. This just brings them back to pre-bama techniques. Some will die because their crutch is gone but IMO this is more in tune with "professional" fishing at the highest level.
  24. Yeah ... like this one ...
  25. Thoughts? I for one am a bit shocked. This league helped make it popular. I'm torn if this is a good thing.
