  1. If you know exactly what you are getting then I am all for E-Bay. With a purchase this size I would be concerned with returning it if there happened to be something wrong with it. If you do buy it let us know your experience. These are great deals! I'm shopping for a kayak too but I want to wait til spring when I can actually try them out around here.
  2. Seems interesting. Don't know about the price.
  3. Great news! Merry Christmas
  4. Bill/Stitch, I just caught up on this thread and there is a tear in my eye. You two are an inspiration for not only fighting the good fight but also sharing with us your story. Hang in there! This Bassresrouce family is amazing!
  5. Congrats! I remember when my baby was born. It's still the best day in my life. She is my mini-me. Always by my side.
  6. Thanks for the pic. That is one bad hook!
  7. Contine working on my drop shot. Begin learning the skirted jig. Starts with building my own from scratch over the winter.
  8. The BPS Pro Qualifier is top notch. It's $80 bucks + free shipping right now. Hard to beat that! I am also partial to the Abu Silver Max and Pro Max reels. The Orra reels are also around the same price point and a little better.
  9. When developing a new website I keep KISS in mind. Keep It Stupid Simple. With that said I would recommend the following hierarchy. 1 - Jig type (grass, football, brush etc.) 2 - weights - what weights are available for that particular head. 3 - hook size - based on the weight and type you will have some hook options possibly. Default hook if no other options. 4 - colors - jighead 5 - Skirt I also agree with the suggestion about seeing the skirts from the same place I am selecting the jig. Hope this helps
  10. Would you mind posting a pic of that Trokar tube hook on a finesse jig? I never heard of that hook and would love to see it. Thanks
  11. All, I have another friend who fishes finesse tubes. He rigs his with a slightly larger hook. He prefers to rig the tube with the hook slightly going past the main body and skin hooking it. I use a slightly smaller hook and get it through the body. I was curious what you all thought ... The picture shows a 3.5 Gitzit rigged two ways. The one above is the one I use ... a 2/0 EWG. My friends method is below with the 3/0 EWG. Thoughts about which you would prefer. Is there another method proven to be successful for you besides these two? Thanks
  12. Right now it's 13 degrees and snowing (3 with wind chill). I haven't been out in about a month. Couldn't tell ya.
  13. I think this is what you are referring to. Looks the same as a previous post. http://bassfishingdem.blogspot.com/2009/05/keep-plastics-securely-in-position.html I don't bother with this personally. If I am concerned about the slide I use a hook which minimizes that. Personally I am big fan of the Gamakatsu Skip Gap hook.
  14. Oh man ... Thank you FishinDaddy!!! I am floored! You definitely did your homework! I bought my first flippin' stick just yesterday in preparation for my 2014 goal. This gift was extremely timely. As you can see I didn't waste anytime in putting my setup together.
  15. x2 on the weight ... they are a great rod otherwise.
  16. I am a big Mustang fan and I am torn about this ... it's no classic ... not sure they will ever get back there but there are some promising features I enjoyed. I will probably make a better judgement when I see it out on the road.
  17. Great article ... I am in the process of looking for a new Yak for myself too and this rings so loudly. Thanks for sharing.
  18. This question read to me like "what lure do you have the most confidence in". To be that is the plain ol finesse worm. Black. On a Mojo Rig On a Drop Shot T-Rigged with a 3/16oz bullet Anyway I fish this I seem to catch fish. I have a ton of confidence in this bait.
  19. 1. Slow down (agree 110%) 2. Be different, somewhat. Big bass are big for a reason they have seen a ton. Make your presentation a little different from the rest. 3. Perfect casts. I believe big bass react to a great presentation. Get it in an ideal spot the 1st time and your percentages go way up.
  20. Just sayin ... it's possible. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/10/science/space/on-mars-an-ancient-lake-and-perhaps-life.html?_r=0
  21. Keitech swimbaits make the best Flash Mob Jr. baits. Gotta love that squid scent. On the cheaper side the Havoc Beat Shads work well too. I have them both rigged in my Bama Box.
  22. x2 on the Yumbrella Flash Mob Jr.. I throw it on a 7' MH Rod with 40lb Braid. Fun rig to fish.
  23. If this is true and I have a chance to see it I will be there!
  24. Don't forget about the force. With that anything is possible.
  25. Very welcome. Happy holidays.
