  1. Merry Christmas to all ...
  2. The Eagles are hot right now. I don't know if it will matter if Romo is in there or not. The Eagles look like a very different team compared to their first meeting.
  3. I had 3 basic goals this year ... 1 - Learn a new technique - The Drop Shot ** I spent some considerable time working this technique but found myself fishing the Mojo Rig way more mainly because of the conditions. Either way I learned to work the Mojo really well and still need to work on the Drop Shot when the opportunity presents itself. 2 - Focus on catching limits during a tournament. ** Out of 14 tournament days I fished only 10 ended up without limits. That's a significant increase from last year where I only caught limits in about 50% of the tournament days I fished. Other Not a goal per se but I won a Pike tournament and cashed in a State Federation Tournament on Chatauqua. I still made a ton of mistakes which cost me other opportunities. I also continued to learn a TON from my boaters. In all I think I had a pretty good year.
  4. Thanks Guys
  5. Exactly! LOL
  6. Anyone give this new Seaguar Braid a try yet? Seems to be the equivalent of a Power Pro braid. How do the two compare?
  7. Does anyone know who may make this jig?
  8. LOL ... I feel ya. I have a few friends on Facebook which make it worse when they post pics by the minute. They are talking about the spawn already in the Orlando area. I hate them so much right now (not really ... lol)
  9. I already have the mold, some hooks and have poured a couple of jigs. My list includes 1 - Tons of skirts from Fishingskirts.com 2 - An interesting skirt maker tool from TW 3 - Some more hooks. 4 - New cast iron ladle (smaller than the one I have) Sidebar note ... learning how to flux lead seems key to a quality pour. That and a very hot lead and mold.
  10. This reminds me of a story. Last late winter/early spring (just around ice out) my friend and I went to check out one of our honey holes. It was about 30 minutes away. When we got there it was still frozen. We threw a rock out to see how frozen it was and ended up quickly punching a hole in the ice. We spent the next hour+ pitching to the hole. We had a blast even though we didn't catch anything. That would have been a sick ending.
  11. Reorganize my tackle (again) and learn everything about the jig. That includes pouring and skirting them. That should keep me busy for a while. Just waiting on Santa to bring me a few things.
  12. Have one ... Tried it a few with no success thus far.
  13. I found that there are a ton of people who I consider friends who just don't think of fishing the same way I do. When I offer to go fishing they know it's not going to be the classic HBB (Hook, Bobber and Beer) so they generally don't want to go. For me it was bass clubs and this forum which has gotten me around people who enjoy fishing the way I do. If I were closer I would be there too. I would even cover my share of expenses.
  14. x2. Own the same. Works great!
  15. x2. This is the exact same thing I use.
  16. Nice job. I started doing this to keep me busy in the cold. I even split a mold with a friend and started trying to pour. Very excited about making jigs from scratch.
  17. I use cheap mono like the most of you. Of course I have to try it though. Lol
  18. I just saw a video with Aaron Martens who says you can gain casting distance just by having a braid backing versus anything else. This isn't a Fluoro leader on Braid but spooling up 150 yards of FC on top of a braid backing just to make sure you understand my question. Has anyone done this and compared the two?
  19. Not proud of it but it became routine for me to have one for breakfast around 7 or 8 while I fish.
  20. For me it's a 6'6 MH Fast spinning setup with a 30 series reel. I spooled mine with 10lb Braid. I will add an 8lb FC leader if necessary. I have done everything on it including the mojo rig, drop shot, small frogs, KVD 1.5's, weightless senkos etc. I have one with me all the time (literally ). Tournament rod - one piece In the car - 2 piece with small tacklebag (for those emergency bass moments) Travel - 3 piece from BassPro.
  21. Consider a custom plastic maker and ask them to make them without salt. That is what I do with Shakey worms and finesse worms.
  22. I definitely prefer someone do their homework before making a post. On more than one occasion I ended up reviving an old post as a result bringing in newer members.
  23. Everything for the Mojo Rig! All Gene the flukemstrs fault.
  24. It's 10 skirt tabs. As carman said you will need 2-3 per jig.
  25. I just bought a setup too and went with braid for the reasons already described. I primarily fish weeds.
