  1. Zoom Ultra Vibe worm. I also love the new Rage CutR worm.
  2. #5 and #14. Looking to add at least one more next season.
  3. I would go with 10lb PowerPro. Add an 8lb leader in clear water.
  4. x2 on this one. For all that money you can go to BassPro in Kissimmee and buy more gear.
  5. I have a 6'3" rod from Rhapsody Rods which I love for skipping docks. I also own a 6' Abu Garcia. Both are medium flex. The shorter rod rocks for this application.
  6. I know ... I keep myself busy just doing my research, building jigs and anxiously watching the weather channel. LOL
  7. I bought an inferno (red ones) and one of the older Elite Flipping Sticks. They are very light and seem to work ok. Nothing to write home about IMO. For the price I would rather an Abu Garcia Vengeance Rod at WalMart. Just check the guides. They don't take care of their rods.
  8. The Ride 115 is another one I am strongly considering. The new 115 which is coming out looks amazing but I think the price goes up with the new model unfortunately.
  9. IMO you can't go wrong with getting a finesse setup. You should still have plenty left to buy whatever else you need. My suggestion is a 6.5 - 7' Medium with a MF tip. A 3000 series reel. 8lb Seaguar Invizx Fluorocarbon. With that you can fish shakey heads, the mojo rig and the drop shot easily. Get some finesse worms (Robos, Zoom, Strike King) and you are good to go! I'm a big finesse fan! Good luck.
  10. Ok ... I have 2 days which stand out to me this year. #1 - Fishing in my first New York State Federation tournament I ended up cashing in (13th place out of 90+ non-boaters). It was a grind on Chatauqua that day and I fished hard just to get my limit. Caught my last and biggest with less than 20 minutes of fishing left. "Never Give Up" comes to mind when I think of this day. I was so proud of myself for the fight. #2 - A personal best 6+lb LMB fun fishing with a friend from a canoe. We had a blast catching fish all afternoon. I tossed my drop shot into a pocket and BAM! The look on his face when he lipped it into the boat was priceless. He ended the trip by tossing me in the muck trying to ground the canoe. A mistake ... I think not! LOL
  11. I was going to post my day but after reading that I will put that back.
  12. I saw that in the demo video. i would not have thought to do that. Thanks for the tip!
  13. I am strongly considering the FS-10 kayak. So far all the reviews had led me to believe that this is the best starting kayak for me. I just have to wait til spring.
  14. You should be good to go with the Orra. Enjoy!
  15. Of course it's the two colors I didn't get from Santa. LOL. Got the Green Pumpkin and Bruiser.
  16. I'm a big fan of the Strike King Dream Shot. I also am fond of their finesse worms. I just got a pack of the Missile Baits Drop Craw from Santa. They look sick! Can't wait to use them. http://missilebaits.com/index.php/videos/drop-craw.html
  17. I bought 2 to replace my SilverMax's at the grand opening of a Bass Pro in Utica. I only got to try them out a handful of times and I love them. I generally don't fish baitcasters for anything less than a 1/4oz so I wouldn't be able to say how they perform with light lures. IMO light lures is more about the rod flex and tip than it is the reel.
  18. The schedule is online. http://www.majorleag...ls.aspx?id=2901
  19. Did this with a thick branch from the bank after a big snag which cut into my hand when I tried pulling it too hard. The only problem here is the fray you leave on the line from pulling the braid with the wood. I rather go the leader route every time.
  20. Did you check their website? Looks like they posted the date/times on Dec 1st. http://www.majorleaguefishing.com/news_details.aspx?id=2901
  21. I fished one time this past year in which I decided to forego the leader on my braid. Never again. My friend outfished me 4 fish to my every 1. We were in gin clear water and I am convinced that the Fluoro he was using made all the difference for him. We even talked about it afterwards and he agreed. Before that I messed around from the bank between no leader and leader and always seem to get more bites with the leader. It may be just a confidence thing but that's how I roll from now on. Leader all the way.
  22. Nailed it ... Yonkers, DC and Baltimore. I'm originally from the Bronx. Parents live in Yonkers currently.
  23. I must have been a real good boy. Some new tackle, a new skirt making tool (awesome by the way), a skeet Reese rod/reel and a tackle box for all my skirt making stuff.
  24. Merry Christmas!
