  1. I'm as happy as my wife allows me to be. Lol.
  2. I carry 2 spinning setups with me 1 - 7'M for Drop Shot, Mojo Rig 2 - 6'6"M for weightless plastics (wacky senko) the latter is my "follow up" rod. If I miss a bite on a spook or something like that I tend to try and follow it up with the senko. My #2 Also better for skipping docks IMO. A little more accurate.
  3. 20# Seaguar AbrazX is what I used last season. Loved it!
  4. LMAO ... Sounds like that makes for a long, hung-over tournament the next morning.
  5. I'm not that far from you bud. still very frozen here in Albany, NY. I will certainly post about my adventures for sure.
  6. I try to stay with one rod company if I can for consistency sake. Comes from my golf days. Same set of clubs across my set.
  7. I always try to cover water quickly first. If that doesn't work I try more finesse tactics. FWIW ... My general rule After Ice out - slow and steady. As the season progresses pick up the speed. Early Spring (after ice out) - The fastest I will go is either a small swimbait (keitech ez shiner) on a small mushroom jig. I also slow roll a fluke with a 1/8oz sinker. I try and move it steady while maintaining contact with the bottom. Late spring - fall: All the typical stuff. Cranks, Spinnerbaits etc. Depends on where I am fishing (depth and cover)
  8. Great job. I had a PB last year with no pics too. Feel your pain.
  9. "Looks great...". Lol
  10. That's the way to do it! Never burn bridges ... good luck.
  11. Saw Bobby at the Suffern Show and asked him about those new baits. They are called the "Flick Stick". He had some on the display table but did not have them on sale yet. I was anxious to buy a few at the show as well. He said that he is finally settled from all the trade show runs and they should be producing them soon. I'm sure he will be on shortly to give us an update. Below is the vid he did at one of shows this year. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/megastrike-flick-stick.html
  12. Solunar tables make terrible bait ... Seriously ... don't even look at them. I fish when I can. Last thing I need is more information going out on a given day.
  13. Every club has their "rules" or recommendations on boater/non-boater expenses. We have hashed that out in other threads. I'm not trying to rehash that topic but get some feedback on how you try to save money during your tournament season. Some examples that I can come up. 1 - Commute up together. Boater/Partner. Try and meet up someplace central and drive up together. Split all expenses to/from. 2 - Share a hotel room. Generally one room could hold 2. If cots are allowed even 3. 3 - Camp out instead of hotel. Some events are near campsites which are much less expensive to reserve than a hotel. any others you can think of ...
  14. Agree 100%. This thread is a great read ... Ask yourself this ... How many times have you questioned a new innovation but the moment it became accessible (sale, at your local store etc.) that you ended up buying it to "try" it. It has happened to all of us at one point I bet you. Part of what makes it so interesting.
  15. Toadz Skins by Frog Toggs is what I use. Works really well.
  16. Who wouldn't want to fish like this !!! LOL
  17. They are my go-to drop shot worm. I have also used them on a mojo with great success.
  18. My Salsa Dance Studio. Now it's hers. Lol.
  19. and Keitech!
  20. You are safe ... Roads are freezing over from Exit 11 up. I don't care how good the sale is I am staying put tonight. No guarantees for tomorrow.
  21. Thanks for the tip. Heading there after work now ....
  22. Flippin and pitchin ... t rigged craws and jigs. Continue refining my drop shot skills.
  23. I wish ... still very frozen up here.
  24. I'm just happy to be out fishing. Even on days when I am not getting bit I try to learn something or experiment. Sometimes that approach pleasantly surprises me.
