  1. Hard to beat the shad shaped worm and the roboworm IMO. My 2 favorites.
  2. Don't forget to post pics.
  3. It has already been a long Winter and I am desperate to get my kayak out on the waters as soon as I can. Looking for help planning a road trip that is within a 7-8 hour drive MAX from upstate New York (Albany). Think I can get to some waters which are fishable this early in the season in that timeframe? Northern VA looks promising BUT I know nothing of the waters down that far and their conditions this time of year? Anything closer? Thanks in advance
  4. Black and Blue .... jigs, craws, beavers, senkos etc. In terms of hard baits buzz baits, spinnerbaits (colorado blade), Lipless Crankbaits. One thing I want to try next year is an MJ Rig. Black/Blue senko with a #3 colorado trailer.
  5. 4/0 Frog Hooks. Like this one
  6. This was my favorite .... As a father of 4 girls it definitely gave me thoughts of upgrading my car. This is so ME! ... LOL
  7. I have been tournament fishing for 4 years now. The first three were using a uni-uni with very good success. I did have some incidents of losing my leader which led me to explore other options. After hearing from this forum about the love for the Alberto knot I spent last winter practicing it and committed to it last year. Found the Alberto to be much much stronger and reliable. I lost lures (pike, pickeril, hangups etc.) but not once did I lose my whole leader. I'm sold.
  8. Sadly ... same here.
  9. For my soft plastics I have 2 under the bed sliding storage bins full. I use 10 gallon bags and sort the plastics by type (senko, beaver, creature, drop shot, finesse etc.) All the terminal tackle and hard baits are in Plano boxes labeled accordingly.
  10. 15# Seaguar Smackdown Braid 8# Seaguar InvizX .... Upgraded to 8# Tatsu over Christmas. Can't wait to try it out.
  11. That about sums it up right there ...
  12. I have a pro and silver .... Love them.
  13. As already mentioned both will work but Keitechs are just softer and work better at slower speeds IMO.
  14. It should work. The only thing I would be concerned with is the lining of those sinkers scraping the line and thus weakening it. It is pretty rough.
  15. Had simiarr problems to those mentioned above. Went back to PowerPro super slick after that.
  16. White River2Sea Rover.
  17. My friend Corey Palmer does charters out of there. His information is on his website. Slam dem smallies. ? http://www.palmerfishingcharters.com/
  18. I came across them at Gander so I bought the 1/8 and 3/16 oz willow size. Tried them out late in the season using a Zoom super fluke jr. Decent action but in order to keep the wobble you need to reel the 1/8 very slow. They warn about overpowering the lure and even that fluke jr. seemed a bit much for the 1/8. 3/16 was better. No bites yet but it was a quick run to my pond to play with it and see how it worked. Definitely can see this working over submerged grass with a small keitech shiner or swing impact on there. Havoc beat shad too.

  20. Try a flick shake ... Killer. Not so new anymore. BassPro also carries a worm and hook which is similar.
  21. Good catch. Just reread. I actually use the VMC swivelshots with my setup. No issues. Santa also got me some Trokar Helix hooks to try. Similar to the VMCs.
  22. Oh boy .... I bought it after seeing my boater slay them on one in a tournament. That thing attracts them like no other topwater in the pads has done for me. It might be hard to tell in the picture but I had the "legs" (skirt) torn off and the plastic around the weight had a tear in it from all the strikes which I fixed.
  23. FWIW ... I use an alberto knot to tie 8lb FC to 15lb Braid. Once I mastered the knot there was no turning back. Used a uni to uni knot for a long time with confidence as well. I also did the swivel thing but I hated casting with that swivel there. With the knot I can reel it close enough to the hook to get long casts with it which I find helpful in certain situations. Santa got me some Seaguar Tatsu 8lb for my leader material ... Can't wait to try it.
