  1. I own the Abu Garcia Revo Winch for crankbaits ... it should work for your needs.
  2. I use the exact same setup as my spinnerbait ... 6'6" - 7' MH with 15-17lb FC.
  3. For the record I don't have a Mustang. I have an BassPro Shop model made by Onyx and these instructions still worked.
  4. Sure did ... just didn't find it. Thank you Glenn.
  5. Very sound advice. Especially the manual check of the life vest. Never considered that ... Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Bought my first Kayak this past year and love fishing out of it! Before that it was a canoe. Definitely a ton of help on this site. Good luck!
  7. This is always the nature with electronics unfortunately. I agree with gulfcaptain. Get the biggest screen which will serve your purpose. Most higher end fishfinders offer all the different features but that doesn't mean you have to use them until you are ready. Just grow with it. FWIW - I am a big fan of side imaging. Can cover a ton of water fast to scout what is going on. Good luck.
  8. All, Just curious how often you rearm your PFD. Obviously reaching out to those who use an inflatable PFD with a rearming kit.
  9. Made me crack right up!
  10. Fun to look back at this video now. Can't wait to see the footage of this show.
  11. you mean this ...
  12. It happens much more often in the summertime for me. This past weekend I fished a tournament where 5 of the 8 fish I caught were before 9:30am. The other 3 were few and far between the rest of the day. During that day my boater and I went over 3 hours without a bite.
  13. Man ... if they aren't biting a tube or drop shot then maybe try a weightless senko or mojo rig with a roboworm. One of those has to work! You didn't describe how you were presenting your tube or drop shot. Maybe try varying your presentation a bit. Hop instead of drag or deadsticking if you can deal with being that slow. At times I had to deadstick a tube and literally wait for my line to move to get a catch otherwise it would be spit out.
  14. So sad! I grew up watching reruns of Mork and Mindy and loved that guy ever since. Extremely talented and made so many people smile and laugh. Shame that he couldn't find peace in this life. Pray that he is truly at peace now. Here is a pic someone shared which made me smile. He was truly one of a kind! RIP Robin.
  15. Depending on the size of fish you are catching you might want to up your line. From 8lb to 10lb for example. If you double up chances are together they will snap your line. Had this happen with a tube/drop shot combo I was using. Felt like a double ... saw one ... guess you know the rest of the story.
  16. When they are chasing and not committing I use the chase bait to find them and then quickly toss out a weightless wacky senko. Always good for a few catches.
  17. I would bump this up to 17-20lb FC. I use Seaguar AbrazX. As RW stated you can go with a braid with a leader. I personally prefer straight FC.
  18. What are you using now?
  19. Here are a few ways I have used tubes FWIW ... 1 - Traditional ... with a tube head. Drag or hop on the bottom. 2 - Flippin ... Bullet weight, EWG or Flippin' hook. Hydrilla all day. 3 - Mojo Rig - A finesse carolina rig and a 3.5 finesse tube. Deadly! 4 - Shakey Head - Keep those tentacles dancing at the top. Megastrike tubes and their Shake E 2 jig are awesome for this. 5 - Drop shot - 2.5 inchers nose hooked. Not much success with this technique. Never tried weightless.
  20. Love him or hate him ... he is entertaining. Way to rise up to the occasion! For the record I am a big Ike fan.
  21. Try to find a local club and join. The term most commonly used is co-angler or BOBA (Back of boat angler). When you find the club you will know quickly if they are looking for members like that. Good luck
  22. I don't know how strange this was for anyone but it was a shock to me. I was fishing the Mohawk River when I was struck hard by a 2+lb SMB. It fought me all the way to the boat. I swung it in and grabbed it. As soon as I grabbed it her mouth opened and the tube was nowhere near hooking her. She was holding it by the lead part with zero hook in her. I mean it came out straight as an arrow. My boater was witness to it and the both of us could not believe how strong they held on to the bait. Lucky to even get her in. LOL
  23. At 10 years all I am going to eligable for is a pair of nice Bose headphones AND they still would expect me to work that day. LOL Congrats and enjoy! Cherish that job and the people who made that possible. AWESOME!!!
  24. My preference is a 6'6" MH F spinning with 15lb Smackdown. I can tie an 8-12 FC leader on it depending on what I am doing. I have also been known to throw pretty much anything else using the braid direct. Works well on big fish as long as your drag is set. By the way ... I also fish a 7' M F spinning and have caught some nice bass including a 6lb. on a senko drop shotting. It's all about the drag. I also use Orra S 30's
