Mercer's show has gotten better over the past few years. You can definitely see how Zona's show has influenced changes in the way it is "cut". As for originality ... I think he is pretty original in his content. In recent years he has done a show fishing out of a paddle board, float tube, on the bank and of course his boat. Can't say that about Zona.
Enjoy both of them a ton. Can you imagine if BOTH were on a show together regularly ... LOL
I use a bag which holds 4-5 3700 Plano's. I swapped out some of the 3700's for 3701's and smaller to better organize stuff. That should be more than enough.
As for rods ... I have rod wraps and I use rod straps which I bought at BassPro. FWIW I also bought wraps at West Marine for $2 which work just as good.
I keep things simple. I tie the leader on. Reel the knot to the tip of the rod. I clip the line in between the last guide and the reel. Tie on my hook and go!
I was referring to their Fluoro-Braid. It has the sinking properties of FC apparently. Looking to try that this spring.
As for the Invisi-Braid ... It might be clearer but it's not fluoro.
I use it as a guide. It ultimately depends on how it "feels" when you use it. Namely in casting the lure and how much feel you have in while retrieving.
Seems to change often, also seems to vary from store to store for the most part. I don't know why.
This is coming from a person who has 3 in my area (Latham, Albany and Saratoga Springs) and also happened to visit the Yonkers, NY and Charlotte, NC locations because of travel in the last two weeks.
Not sure ... My friend just told me it was a 6'10" MH Fast baitcasting combo. The shimano reel sounded a basic 4 bearing model which had good reviews. He was extremely excited by it. LOL
This my friend is why I am an "armchair QB" and not a professional analyst. This makes a ton of sense to me. If the strategy was truly this evolved then I love this game even more.
My simple mind says they should have stayed with their strength and put the championship on the line by handing it off.
Get this ... there was a flurry of people who raided the DSG in Latham, NY. There was a Shimano combo which was being sold for under $20 which retailed for over $120. My friend ended up with 3 of those combos. As a result that DSG went through with their staff and starting pulling things off the shelves. Someone made some mistakes ... LOL
Need some advice in planning a trip to this lake. I intend to go sometime between the end of Feb. and April. Any recommendations on when would be preferable? Any guide recommendations? Places to stay?
I am hoping for a full 3 day weekend of fishing.
Thanks in advance all.
Went to visit my folks in Yonkers. Decided to stop by one close by. Scored a Veritas 7'6" MH for $40. Tungsten drop shots for around a $1.30 each and some UA fishing shirts at under $7. Major score IMO!
