  1. Agree 110% ... if you want to fish go fish ... doesn't mean the fish will cooperate but as they always say ... a bad day of fishing is better than any day at work.
  2. Had an opportunity to try this out last week. Worked exceptionally well. Great read ... must read for those who take their catch and release seriously IMO. Thank you!!
  3. I had one come off within a rod length of my kayak earlier in the season ... Fishing a swimbait she took it hard. I fought her for a while and she finally surrendered (or so I thought). She was sideways coming towards me. I kept a tight line on her most of the way. I inadvertently put a little slack in the line right at the yak and as soon as I did she slapped the water with her tail, one last lunge and was gone. I would hate to guess the weight but all I know is she was big and fat.
  4. Already counting the days! Wouldn't miss it for the world!
  5. I will most certainly be there. Already have a campsite booked nearby, my fees paid for. All I need is my Canadian license. I will look out for you then.
  6. BASS Fed ... I will be at Chautauqua lake. Good luck with the boat. Hope they are right about "better than before".
  7. When you said Above Albany, NY I was suspecting maybe Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs or maybe a stretch with Lake George ... Norfolk is way, way up above Albany Welcome! By the way I am fishing the NY State tournament on the St Lawrence River in a few weeks if you are too then maybe we can meet up. I'm a huge fan of that body of water. Tight lines!
  8. For the record I love MJ. Grew up watching him win all those rings. You can say a lot about Lebron but as it pertains to this series choking was not one of them. He WAS the team for this series. Lechoke .... Give me a break!!!
  9. I have used this at 6 and 8 lb test. It is the only FC which I have literally thrown away even for fun fishing or as leader material. Way too many line snaps for no odd reason. For the record I have used all the Seaguar (except Tatsu), Berkley 100%, Spiderwire FC. None of those failed me like Vanish does. My preference is Seaguar Invizx. Red Label in a pinch.
  10. Cleveland looked gassed as early as 2Q. They did all they could go get it close by the end of 3Q. I'm on board for a 7 game series.
  11. I have zig zag cleats on either side of me. I use a 3 lb folding grapnel style anchor. Opened if I want to hold to a spot. If that doesn't work then I keep it closed and it works like a drag chain.
  12. I practiced the ablerto knot all winter and thus far I have no intentions on going back to the uni to uni. It works on my spinning 15lb braid to 8-10 FC leader. It also works on my flippin' setup ... 50lb braid with 15lb FC I lose lures at the knot before I lose the leader. Couldn't say the same with the uni to uni.
  13. My 3 casting 7' M XF 7' MH F to XF 7' M M All with 6:x:1 reels That should cover just about anything ... maybe not 100% ideal for one technique vs. another BUT it should work for most if not all.
  14. I'm partial to VMC and my favorite hook is the VMC Half Moon head. I pair it with a few baits but since you mentioned Powerbait I will focus on that 1 - Power Grub - Salt and pepper and Green Pumpkin my favorite colors 2 - Power Shaky Worm - green pumpkin, watermelon red, black 3 - Chigger Craw - Black/Blue, Black/Red Havoc is close enough to Powerbait and I absolutely love the beat shad. Caught on a lot of their colors!
  15. tackle you use most: Keitech Swing Impact on spinning rod. 15lb braid with a 8-10lb Fluoro leader. Tell us how you fish it or use and where!: Great bank beating bait. I can cover a ton of water with it. Also can cover various depths based on the VMC half moon jig I put on. I have caught fish as deep as in 10 FOW using this setup. Explain why we should buy it! It flat out gives you the best of both worlds. A bait that covers a lot of water. That is finesse enough to attract numbers. Also catches big fish. And what you have caught with it!! LMB, SMB, Rock Bass, Pike, Pickeril, Crappie, Yellow Perch, Carp (that was fun and unexpected) What I didn't catch made me cry ... I was in Texas trying to get my 1st Gar using the keitech. It would follow and then go away. Changed colors but it wouldn't budge. I was hoping for that 1st Gar. Welcome to bass fishing! Trust me you would regret it. Be ready to work hard for all the toys you want.
  16. My kids love him so I get to watch a fair amount of GS games. When he is good he is good. He tends to get sulky/pouts when things aren't going so well. Let's see if he can work his way out of it in the most important series in his career. That behind the back nonsense at that point in the game exposed a degree of immaturity in him IMO. Great player ... agreed ... with the right attitude he could be even better. scary ...
  17. Horrible timing to get into a funk. The end of Q4 however seemed different. Will see tomorrow.
  18. I was floored when I saw this last night .... Shaqtin' a fool has a new highlight.
  19. My 5 best ever would be somewhere between 24 - 28 lbs.
  20. Absolutely ... my favorite fish to chase!
  21. As a co-angler in tournaments I try to be as flexible as possible. That means carrying much more than I would ever need to cover as many scenarios as possible. With that said one problem I always faced was with managing spinnerbaits. I have one little nook where I put a bunch in and it never fails ... they get tangled, wrapped up in one another etc. I decided to tackle the problem and came up with a very simple solution ... At Staples the sell horizontal badge holders. They are about 4 x 4 and hold a spinnerbait perfect. When stacking them in my plano the end result is a piled up deck of cards which you can sort through much easier. It's not proven yet but I am sure happy with the results thus far ... thought I would share in case it would help someone else.
  22. I have a similar situation ... I used the Coppertruse and got some decent bites. That has a chartreuse bottom which I think helps. FWIW I also add megastrike.
  23. Wow ... this NED rig is really picking up. I placed my order at TWC this past week and 90% of the items were out of stock. They sell TRD's and the Shroom heads at Cabelas if you are fortunate to be near one. I picked up a few colors just this past weekend.
  24. I misspoke ... this is what I did. the eye of the weight into the worm. Not the whole thing. my mistake.
