    Help?

Finesse worm on a shakey head or TRig. Drag it and drag it some more.
  2. PM me with your address. I was just at a sportsman show in the area and have some brochures which might help you. All about fishing in the area.
  3. Kids are home early and the snow is consistent. Expecting about 8-12" here. If it holds true then the worst is yet to come.
  4. Has anyone used the product with any success? If so, under what conditions. I'm wondering if there is value in the UV spray on. Thanks
  5. At least 20lb PowerPro for me. It works. No need to change if it works in my opinion.
  6. Hard to argue with the pro. I would suspect this is the same around alot of lakes. Especially the smaller ones. Catch and Release is a great thing but most people don't read the fine print which states that you can keep some which are of legal size. I think that bass isn't the tastiest of fish so that is part 2 of the equation. Kind of tasteless in my opinion.
  7. Seems really grey and ultimately it's left to the person(s) in the boat to make a judgement call. In the case of a co-angler this is where morality takes precedence to the rules. There's nothing stopping a co-angler from dropping a like and letting drag regardless of what the boater is doing with the trolling motor. More and more like golf where players enforce their own rules. I have to say this was an interesting one. Thanks to all of you for your feedback.
  8. If you are talking about the Havoc bag I think you can hold more. It hold's 4 3600's comfortably. I spent the winter reorganizing the bag and now I have 3-3600's 2-3601's and one of the 3500's on top. It still leaves plenty of room in the compartment inside and the two outside for worms. If it goes I sale I might buy another one just to keep it for when this one goes down. So far it has lasted me one solid season with no signs of crapping out on me. Thought it wouldn't last because of the price.
  9. Have you tried the Havoc bag from Dicks Sporting Goods. I think its 30 bucks or so. Plenty of room for soft plastics and 4 3600 boxes. I use it for tournaments and love it!
  10. So far it's a 9lb Pike and a 5.89 Smallmouth.
  11. I use a uni-uni knot. Caught my personal best on a 10lb Braid to 8lb FC leader on a shakey head.
  12. The difference with long-lining is that the intent isn't for the trolling motor to move the bait to catch fish. In this case the intent is to move your bait with the motor. After looking on other sites it looks like this (long lining) is a very touchy subject because while the intent isn't there the crankbait is obviously moving.
  13. What about the trolling motor? Wouldn't that be considered "under power"?
  14. Sweet ride ... I want one!
  15. I am expecting about a foot of snow this weekend. Perfect time for me to browse through my collection and prepare a care package for them. Their address is on the link I provided above. In case you don't want to go there it's Major Steven Roy Andrews Fishing Outreach Program Inc. c/o Joe Kowalski - President 60 Sunset Road Cheshire, CT 06410
  16. Guys, I picked up a magazine at BPS and read an article on a technique referred to as "Dragging a fluke". Now I understood dragging to mean slowing reeling or moving the rod slightly to cause the bait to inch it's way back to you. Not according to this article. Here's the quote about the technique. This is after the cast and let it sink to the bottom part which I assumed everyone would know ... "He doesn't reel it. He doesn't hop or twitch it. He simply holds onto his rod as the breeze pushes his boat and his bait scuffs along the bottom. That's it!" I thought that would be considered trolling. This is an article about a technique used on the Elite series so it must be legal right?
  17. Found them on sale at BassPro. Going to give them a shot this season.
  18. Perfect timing ... I have a bunch of good stuff I would like to donate. Is this it? http://www.fishingoutreachprogram.com/Home.html
  19. You and me both ... My suggestion is to get something good quality if you are going to do this at all. I just got my order of stuff to make soft plastics and I am going to spend the winter recycling old lures. I didn't want to make new stuff per se but i'm sure I will get around to it ... LOL By the way I bought all my stuff from lurecraft.
  20. I use them with a 1/4oz ball head jig for smallies.
  21. Just went through that "cleanse" this winter. I have 6 rods/reels which I use as a co-angler 3 baitcasters - All FC 10, 15 and 20 1 baitcaster - 12 lb mono 1 spinning - braid 10lb (FC leader if necessary) 1 spinning - FC 8lb The FC is Seaguar Invizx The Braid is PowerPro The mono is Sufix Elite I left behind co-polymer, super lines etc. these work for me.
  22. Agree 100% here. I would go a little step further and do a trick I learned from a friend. 1). Tie the like to a tree. 2). Take out as much line as you possibly have by walking away. Keep tension on the line. About a decent cast length is sufficient. 3. Spray the spool with KVD 4. Spray a rag with KVD and put the line in the rag so it gets a good dose of it as you reel it in. 5. Have fun with this part but reel in while you keep the rag there. This eliminates any twists as well as pits a good dose of KVD on the line. If this doesn't work ... Respool.
  23. I stick with the 5" Senkos. As for colors you can't go wrong with those colors (black, green pumpkin). I also have success with baby bass, and like the post above green pumpkin magic & watermelon magic.
  24. I PMd you. I will call you tomorrow with the details.
  25. Im in. My buddy and i will be there Sunday.
