  1. I have a 1/2 oz tandem spinner bait that keeps turning over at a moderate speed. Is there anything I can do to keep it from doing that?
  2. I saw those. Was looking to see if anyone used the regular Bucktails.
  3. I have a box of 2oz for Stripers on the Hudson. It's what prompted me to ask about using them for LMB and smallies.
  4. It's been said already ... they are tough to catch but if you want to try I always throw on a weightless frenchfry type bait. The small profile and very slow fall right in front of them has caught some for me in my local pond. Cast out and try to land it just in front of them. Good luck.
  5. Has anyone ever used these for bass fishing? How did you use them? Thanks
  6. Agreed ... if this is a project then go to WalMart and buy one of the $1.00 ones. At this price you can buy a few and mix and match it to create your own unique combo.
  7. I generally try to avoid buying tungsten because it it so expensive. As a result I usually buy lead or steel bullet weights. They are usually unpainted and either a very shiny silver or muted metallic color. I rarely see tungsten unpainted. Does anyone take the extra step and paint the bullet weights black or some dark green color? In your opinion does it make a difference?
  8. x2 on NY Style but extra crispy. My favorite is plain old "Plain" as long as it's a great sauce and quality cheese. When I want to go crazy it's a Hawaiian Pizza with a twist ... Bacon instead of ham, pineapples and a lot of red pepper flakes !!!

  10. Well said ... I absolutely love this site! Congrats!
  11. Lol ... I got creative this winter with Fish Oils, Anise Oils, old coffee grounds and Garlic scents. All mixed in petroleum jelly or on their own. I made a mess in my kitchen and stunk up my house in the process. I'm finally getting around to test them out and so far I found they don't hold up well on soft plastics at all. The oils just come right off in one cast. The jelly based scents hold on longer but not long enough. Using my sense of smell the scent is gone rather quickly. IMHO - I don't think it's worth it. There are too many good products out there which hold up much better than mine. JJ's and Megastrike come to mind. I will keep testing but so far I am not impressed with my Fish scent making abilities.
  12. Ike because he is personable and a great teacher.
  13. I just bought the new Havoc Jerk. For the price it's wortha shot.
  14. Strike King Caffeine Shad. I catch on them and have yet to catch one on a Zoom super fluke. Crazy! I know!
  15. x2 ... I prefer the spin shot too. Price and quality. I foundt them on sale @ Walmart for a $1. Took em all!
  16. I think I did ... a little.
  17. Zoom UV Speed Worm and Horny Toad.
  18. I was a golf fanatic until i discovered fishing. At this point I picked up my Callaways 4 times last year and doubt I will get more reps with them this year ... LOL To put it in perspective I used to practice golf 3-4 times a week and play twice a week before.
  19. I have been using MegaStrike for 3 weeks now and I am convinced it helps. On my last trip I went out with 4 others to a pond known for big bass. I caught 3. They caught none. My bait had megastrike on it. Could it have been the bait? ... sure. It seems to help when the bite is tough. Cold fronts, pressured fish etc.
  20. My single favorite combo is a 6'6" MH Abu Garcia spinning setup. I learned on that setup and always revert to it when the bite is tough.
  21. I switched to all FC for baitcasters. I still prefer braid for spinning gear. I add a FC leader if needed.
  22. My friend just moved there and I am visiting him in a few weeks. This is close to his home. Any advice on where/how to fish this lake? We will have a canoe.
