  1. Most of mine have come on finesse swimbait type baits (Grubs, Keitech minnows, swimmin super fluke jr)
  2. I like it ... Fun twist on a fun song.
  3. When are they going to be available? I have a Pike tournament next Saturday on Lake Champlain. I would have loved to have a few of these to toss around.
  4. With my limited Drop Shot experience it's the wacky finesse worm for me so far.
  5. I can't wait to try it on a drop shot
  6. I'm partial to the split shot method myself. Small 2/0 hook, #2 or #3 split shot at least a foot up from the lure. I cast it out let it sink and drag it through the grass or bottom. Fun with a floating worm (Elaztech) too ... that worm floats away from the split shot. Great finesse technique.
  7. The one pack of 4 inchers I bought did not move like that. It was stiff and the tail struggled to move. I also bought the 3 inch version and the action on that was amazing! Looks like I need to buy another pack of 4 inchers. d**n bait monkey!
  8. I was able to get out and try out the smaller Sick Fish. The action on that lure is much better than it's mid-side counterpart. Landed my first Sick Fish Bass on it.
  9. I do map study and read alot (this site, books, magazines). Believe it or not I also spend some time visualizing some of the spots I fish and imagine fishing them with particular lures. A little trick I learned from my golf lessons.
  10. This is great! Fuzed in my brain now because it was so funny ... yet true!
  11. Awesome! I wish at least one my kids enjoyed it as much as I do. The little one says she does but after 15 minutes she is "tired".
  12. They have great customer service. One simple phone call and they will point you to the exact kit you need. I had a reel which they couldn't find so they sent me a measuring tool and walked me through the process of getting the exact bearings I needed. Worth every penny!
  13. To answer your question specifically then ... I never had an issue with a tube of Megastrike.
  14. Everyone already beat me to the punch. Reach out to Bobby @ Megastrike. He stands behind his product.
  15. Stick with spinning. If she becomes seriously interested in the sport then she will slowly take away your rod/reels.
  16. I don't know if this will help but I actually like to count to help me slow down. Examples: Jig example - Cast it out. Let it sink and count to 5 (the old one-one thousand, two-one thousand deal). Slowly lift the jig, let it drop and repeat (Count to 5). Slow rolling a spinnerbait or swimbait - Cast it out. Let it sink and begin reeling. Try to match one reel to one second. In both cases I use this to try and slow myself down. Once I settle into that pace I can then vary the retrieve from there.
  17. My favorite baits for smallmouth are 1 - Tube 2 - Wacky Senko 3 - Shakey Head with a Trick Worm on them 4 - Spinnerbait
  18. Timely article which I think compliments this thread http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/tournament-adapt.html
  19. The sell summy swimbait heads for this exact purpose now. Pretty cool.
  20. Just curious how members feel about these two approaches to tournament fishing.
  21. Small swimbaits rigged on a 1/16 - 3/16oz weedless swimbait hook are a must for me from the bank. I can usually find fish pretty quickly with that little bass snack. Senkos, finesse worms on a shakey head are also bank fishing staples year round. I am rediscovering the grub and when the situation arises I love throwing the horny toad in pads and stuff.
  22. You sound like my wife ... Lol. Seriously ... they look great. The Green Pumpkin/Gold color is my favorite. Question: What did you plan to lair that blue one with? I agree that it needs something else. Black or a Green Pumpkin for an Okeechobee Craw color.
  23. Rage Craws and Flukes
  24. It's one thing to learn new techniques ... it's a whole other thing to instinctively be on the water, recognize a situation and then have the confidence to execute on said technique. True versatility comes with staying open-minded and with time.
  25. Agreed with others ... Trailer hook. Don't leave home without them.
