stick with Big Game,if it frays with Big Game it will fray with just about anything out there. experience has taught me that !!!!!! the only other mono I use is Ande, made for saltwater. you can try that.good luck.
thicker line will cause it to run shallower, thus thinner line will run deeper. retrieve speed, rod angle, length of cast all pays into lure depth. a rattlin rapala will sink if not reeled in right away so letting it settle after the cast you can also adjust depth. play around with all of this to see what works for you. good luck.
stick with the same baits you would use during the day,but start with a darker shade and experiment with different speeds till the fish tell you what they want.
all year…...worm,frog,beaver,topwater plug, lipless crankbait, squarebill, not in that order…………..oh yeah spinnerbait, swim bait, hard jerk bait, soft jerk bait, oh god make me stop…………..!!!!!!!!
try hard jerk baits, topwater plugs…..keep em moving.peacocks like moving baits.sometimes faster the better.try different retrieves to find out what works best.good luck they are a blast to catch.
I have a couple that do the same thing, some don't. don't know why but they still work. seems to do it mostly on medium speed. i use mono so lines not the issue. my traps don't do it at any speed,no matter how fast or slow I reel em go figure…………tried that also didn't help.
my buddy Larry has the same boat with red trim. his came with a motor guide also but upgraded to a higher thrust. mini kota's were an option I believe.
it's worth trying, try to get under the mats, fish might be holding in the shade of the mats. In fl. here we get under the mats in the heat of the day and drag em out. so yeah try, never hurts.
i watch most of em,but the old Bill Dance shows were the best.
also love Lunkerville. get to see people from all over that normally you wouldn't see. great show.
do the weeds go to the bottom. or is there space underneath? might just get away with good old fashioned flipping. if it's real dense, punching might be the only way to get em out.
