  1. NY Jets all the way. Yeah, 'Delusional' is my middle name.
  2. I was only one when the Dodgers moved to LA. I understand my uncle got in a heap of trouble from my aunt over this picture of him and a movie star that appeared in in Life Magazine. https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.wsZHUu2N-YIJAVCOPIX84QAAAA?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain
  3. We're plagued with those suckers out here in the countryside. My .177 1,400 fps airgun normally does the trick on them.
  4. The first plastic I throw in the year for smallies is the Charlie Brewer's 1.5" crappie slider grub.
  5. If water temps are in the mid to upper 50's it would be a jerkbait, worked very slowly.
  6. At the end of my tournament days (almost 30 years ago) I'd only bring 3 rods and a small tackle bag, as a co-angler. I knew each lake and what I planned to do. Did as well as when I'd bring an arsenal in the early days.
  7. Yup, still use them in early spring. Have also had some luck inserting a floating worm into them and using a 1/8oz jig head in summer.
  8. Got tickets for a bus excursion to see the Dodgers play the Yankees in New York on 6/8, and taking my lifelong Dodgers fan 81 year old father in law. The old geezer is excited for the trip.
  9. Minn Kota Endura C2 30lb thrust trolling motor on clearance at Walmart for $66.
  10. Fat Ika in green pumpkin
  11. Here is a good resource for lake maps in NJ, with depths and more. NJDEP| Fish & Wildlife | Lake Survey Maps
  12. Been a long time since I posted last, but still read the forum on occasion. Don't do much bass fishing since selling the boat many moons ago, and onslaught of numerous health issues. Retirement wasn't for me and now work full time for a county government, and also have a part time job at home improvement center... for the exercise it provides. Gonna try and do more fishing this year (but I say that every year in February).
  13. If you have a boat try Fairview Lake in Pike County. Best largemouth and smallmouth fishing in the northeast PA, IMO. Quality sizes, also.
  14. Spruce Run (more towards the NE side of the state). Nuff said!
  15. Suspending jerkbaits is my goto in March for both LM and SM. Just work them slooooow.
  16. Simply to find the time to fish more.
  17. Probably too late as it's mid day Friday, but fish suspending jerkbaits slowly and let it sit for a couple of seconds between jerks over the grass this time of year.
  18. If it were me in a kayak, for safety sake, I'd go left out from the launch and hug the shoreline on the north banks. I swear you can see clearly down to 50 feet on that lake. I’ve always believed at Round Valley Res if the fish can see you then you can’t catch them so long casts or deeper water is key. Small 4" straight worms on light jig heads, 4" Senkos hooked in the center, and Fat Ikas served me best - all in dark natural colors. I always key on grass, points and riprap there. Again if it were me on a kyack I’d ditch Round Valley and take the short jaunt to fish safely at Spruce Run Res. Better fishing, quality largemouth, and are easier to catch in my opinion.
  19. A lot of people complain about Beltzville because it is often hit or miss. When times are tough I move between several key spots that offer different depts and structure, and one of them will usually produce.
  20. Thanks for the help. Deeper water grass produced the best for stickbaits. Those FL bass sure look different then our nothern ones. Also taught a guy and his son from North Wales who were using live worms, and who only fly fishes over there, the benefits of artificals for bass. He was going to head over to Walmart the next day to stock up on hooks and stickbaits.
  21. Sorry, should have posted in central FL bass fishing.
  22. Cross one off the bucket list. Friday I get to fish a lake in Kissemmee... A dream come true! Will be fishing mostly stick baits (my confidence bait). and will be bank fishing. Walked part of the lake today. Lay down logs, pads, grass, isolated timber and open water... oh my. Everything looks good. What should I concentrate on? Thanks.
  23. On a return flight once from a family vacation to DisneyWorld, without thinking I wore a NY Jets T-Shirt. Arriving at the Orlando airport at the TSA checkpoint, the agent looked at me and said "Are you nuts wearing that shirt around here?" I immediately knew I was in trouble. It was pretty slow that time of day, and he called over additional agents. Some good natured ribbing ensued and they decided to put me through a series of humorous checks, which were more indicative of a DUI stop than a real TSA check. It was all done in good fun and I played along with it. The airport staff seems to have a grand time at my expense (even several of the security staff came over to see what all the commotion and laughter was about). My youngest daughter asked her mom why daddy was being investigated. My wife told her... "because he’s an idiot."
  24. As a lifelong NY Jets fan, I like Tebow’s addition. The Jets had success with Brad Smith in the wildcat, and Tebow will add that extra depth back to their stumbling offense.
  25. In the lakes I fish, early spring means 1/4 oz Kastmasters, Original Rapalas, LuckyCraft suspending jerkbaits, 4" plastic Fin-s Fish jerkbaits, and 3" (and smaller) grubs with minimal action tails.
