  1. Aite, well the line touching makes sense now that I've heard others feedback. I do put my index finger under the line when working a worm to feel the bite better but am aware of it may slip and try to avoid. But I stiill like the reel and concept, so we'll work on it, thanks
  2. Chime in if you use or had good times/bad times with a Diawa Tatula Twing reel because I'm regretting buying the 100 series (not the r type.) Caught a 7# on top the first tourney I fished with it at, and was pleased with everything especially the casting distance. 2-3 trips in noticed how the top of the "T" closest to the spool always rubs the line on the reel in.....friction and wear on line...not good! 2nd.... I would make a good cast with a trick worm and by the time it was atthe boat the spool was very un level due to it sliding into the top of the "T" on retrieve..... The reel overall is nice, not super durable but d**n....am I missing something, please enlighten me! Thanks!
  3. ...Because 2 hooks is NEVER better than 1
  4. Are you kidding me, on a weekly basis! JK...But in all seriousness, yes I've called in twice in my life to go on a fishing trip
  5. I've caught them good shallow, 2-6ft range, all year and it fits my style so I've enjoyed myself. Between fishing the local club, a couple pot trail derbys and private ponds.....I can count on one hand the number of fish caught 10+ feet. GRASS HAS BEEN KEY to my better than average fishing this year for me. Alot of time spent on Eufaula, Lake Seminole, the Chattahochee between the two for mentioned lakes and the Flint River has humbled me but helped me as well when it comes to the thick stuff. Baits have been....50% Hollow body frog, 30% Magnum Ultravibe (WM Magic) 10% Buzz Frog, 10% Chatterbait. Let me set this up for you...lol My Avatar was a 1.5 months ago, Flint River, Bainbridge AL.... slight stain, bluebird skys and 94deg at noon grass edge in 2ft down to 8ft in small cut of of river w/ slight current Mag U-Vibe, 1/16th oz Tungsten to the first 1-2ft of grass line....slooooow drag of the edge...and BAM Won the tourney with 23lbs in 2 hours As far as rock and the Chattahoochee River. the 2-5 ft range of tapering rock shoals with boat sitting in 7-8ft....its been lights out for 2 months in the first 2-3 hrs on a Super Spook Jr, Yellow Belly TN Bass ***PB tournament fish (7.4lbs) slurped that confidence bait right down. Point of the story....call me an old "bank beater" but love to fish shallow in the grass with confidence baits...and they stayed relatively shallow, in this part of the country, thankful this year so far
  6. I found though, be careful with the weed guards in the wire slots. If you have to bend the plastic to get it into a notch, the weed guard won't return, easily to original the original state. Just FYI..something I haven't learned the hard way but can see how this could be a problem
  7. And even with smaller finesse jigs you can turn to the side a bit so the weed guard catches the slots
  8. They don't and thought some would. I'm like you I have to store boxes on the side. The slots are small enough to hold 1/4oz - 1oz jigs in place (sizes I have. BUT not too tight to mess up the collars on break strands. I slid them in holding the skirt at the bottom in the slot right between the head and collar
  9. Thanks for all the feedback, especially from doyle! Most posters have been dealing with the same issue I was.....so.....go to pick you up an $11, Plano 3700 spinnerbait box and you'll thank me...and doyle too! All ordered by color, style and size - 38 jigs Top (L to R) - Standup Jigs > Swim Middle (L to R) - Casting > Heavy Cover Middle (L to R) - Finesse Football > Football - WDE! Whether you fish tournaments or small water fish, this will save a lot of time and frustration!
  10. SO!...if you find any, Ill buy em! lol
  11. Thanks for the tip, 30 colors is the best you'll find. My favorite, which you won't find...Yellow Belly TN Bass...had a couple and found 3 on eBay for $3 each and scooped em up! Yellow Belly
  12. I just gave away my spinnerbait box to my brother due to changing to the square hanging box. Going soon to pickup a 3700 spinnerbait box soon! My jigs are all pulled out thinking the smaller Plano flipsider said jigs up to 1/2oz, spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits.....and can't fit 95% of those in matchbox slots
  13. Oh...Get them at most places....Walmart/Academy has the KVD Triple Grips but I mainly order from Tackle Warehouse. Just checked out the Owner ST36s in #4, Bluebasser86 mentioned on TW and are nice!...7pk $5.99 Word of Advice...there maybe other baits you want to change or upgrade the hooks on so before you order check into that. I personally change the hooks on my Lipless crank baits and most 1.5 type square bills, especially SK brand.
  14. Spooks? You can get them at a lot of place just check on the colors you want - Wally-mart | Bottom of the shelf selection most of the time – Heddonlures.com | 6 color selections for Spook Jr. ($5.99) – BassPro | 12 colors for Spook Jr. ($6.99**overpriced on all bard baits IMO) - Tackle Warehouse | 3 colors for Spook Jr. ($5.99) Just gotta poke around being it's a Pradco bait different place will have different varieties fesh and salt. And sure Gander has some too
  15. Correct, #4, thanks for the proofing
  16. PB-Pond: 8.28lb Chatterbait, Chartruese/White - Ale Wife Cane Thumper Trailer Caught in July, 1 day before full moon at 12 noon, water slight stain Bank fishing and slams it 5-6ft from the bank in scattered grass in 1-2ft of water **caught a 2-4 lber every 2nd or 3rd cast for an hour...awesome day Tournament PB: 7.63 Super Spook Jr, yellow belly TN bass, feathered treble Chattahochee River calm, clear 74 deg. 7am Rock Shoal..sitting in 7-8ft casting in 2-3 of rock **Tiny waterfall trickling clean water and made the perfect cast into the clearest spot pause...pause...1 twitch and slurp....$230 tourney big fish
  17. Also, all these are nice clean setups but due to storing my box on the side, its a snake pit to find the right one once there nice and mixed together!
  18. Now this is a good idea! Ive organized my almost everyday as the other posters
  19. My 2nd choice especially in SE Alabama in October is the Sexy Dawg in Bone with white feathered treble.....during the shad movement/bass feed up...they can't stand it! I can work the smaller Sexy Dawg faster to fire up the bass....but the "dog days" of summer, I think color and retrieve (slower sometimes with pause) is key
  20. I like these in 4/0 on the front "Mustad KVD Elite Series Triple Grip Treble Hook" and "Mustad Triple Grip Feathered Treble Hook" (not the red version...not strong IMO) on the business end Here is the basic setup, except these Mustad hooks aren't the triple grips....Plus, you can't find that pattern/color anymore...yellow belly FL bass...They kill it around me
  21. Good advice! I throw the Super Spook Jrs w/ upgraded hooks...KVD triple grip on front and mustad feathered treble on back. As far as R&R...I throw mine on 15# Mono or Flouro, with a 7:1 reel and 6'9" Veritas MH Microguide. Here's a little tip, FOR THE BEST ACTION, use a loop knot, best case scenario, or a snap clip at the very least and don't tie directly to line tie
  22. Thanks! I've thought about the Plano Flip-sider boxes
