  1. Although didn't involve me catching with a rod and reel still found this to be entertaining. My buddy and i were fishing at are local hole in a canoe. I borrowed my father's rod and reel and sometime into the trip i decided to jury rig a spot for my father's combo. Needless to say it didn't work.. Heard a splash, looked behind and theres the combo sinking with a spook attached.. Spent about a hour trying to find it.. Failed. Several months later im out again with my same friend and we see somthing bobbing in the water close to the spot where the rod drowned. It's the black spook! After lots of tangled line and ripping threw weeds the combo was found completely coverd in weeds and slime... wasen't in good shape lol. Spook was fine just needed some new trebles. Many people fished the lake and was standing out like a sore thumb. Very strange how i stumbled arcoss it after months and months.
  2. Pack on enough cloths untill your almost sweating.. You'll be happy you did when that windchill kicks in on the lake.
  3. Heard this topic a bunch, but never heard this question. Do pros every take out the jon boat and hit small honey holes? A bass is a bass as most say so you'd think going to smaller ponds with big fish would still be practicing, but with more of a toned down style of fishing that would bring more of a fun/relaxing day being on the water.. Im gonna go ahead and guess no..Just wanted to hear other opinions. Thanks BR
  4. I'd go with jigs, jerkbaits, chatterbaits, swimbaits, soft plastics. Here in new england i dont throw top-waters in the fall unless theres surface activity. Some may argue otherwise. Pretty much try fishing with slow baits at different depths. If that dont work try gettting some reaction strikes with the metioned above plus whatever else is in your arsenal. Also try fishing shallow ponds... In the fall it can be great way to get em. Do alot better than BOWs with depths past 20-25ft
  5. Agree with you there.. Only reason i believe it one of the ponds i fish still produces 7-8lbs..... I met a guy with my father who showed me a 9lbsumthing bass mount caught in a pond in wareham MA. Guy had a bunch of bassfishing gear and two bass boats so pretty d**n sure it wasen't no fake. Especially considering the pond he said he caught the bass in......Got a guy on my local fourms who caught a 9lb in mass in the south shore. Pic and weightd officially.... Got my pb at 8.5 in MA Cant speak for the rest of new england, but MASS got some true monsters.. Just comes down to finding the BOWs they live in.
  6. Theres a few ponds on the south shore an cape that had 9s and 10s pulled out. One place in particular supposedly had a decect population of 7-10lb back in the 80s...
  7. zman project-z webisodes
  8. Slow sink.. Cranking as slow as i could without snaging. Did one directional change and BAM smoked the BBZ
  9. Agree.. to make things worse on my side i actually do own a scale lol.. Biggest bass i weighed was alittle over 8lb She was caught off a bed blind casting under brush with a jig I doubt the fish was a DD, but i know it was atleast 7-8lb.. I've caught my fair share of 5-6lbs bass to be dang certain.. At the end of the day im just happy hooking into quality fish in my neck of the woods..
  10. Yea definitely agree on that. Just about all the bass this fishery has none of them got bucketmouths... Small heads to big bodys.. Its indeed a VERY healthy place though. With goods numbers of 3-6lbs and a soild amount of 7lb+
  11. Heres a few that i've been catching on the savage gear And this one was on a smaller swimbait 4" Swimbaits have really been catching quality and quantity for me this year! Lots of small and big fish have been engulfing big baits!
  12. HAHAH OOPS!!! Dummy me didn't even realize what bait i caught her on! Been catching lots of swimbait fish an i lost track. Did indeed catch her on a BBZ 6"... But been catching alot of quality fish in the 3-6lb range with my savage gear line thru... Sorry bout that one
  13. Thanks guys im pretty sure the fish is around 7-8lbs too, but i hear a few guys saying it's close to a DD. An the bait was a savage gear line thru swimbait. Highly recommend it!
