I have heard some people thinks it brings bad luck. Pros are very superstitious. A lot of them freak out if banana's are even in the boat.

A few will be in the Broken Arrow BPS for the spring classic. I am sure it helps the Bassmaster Classic will be in town when the sale starts! If anyone gets a chance, when they have an elite tournament or FLW event, go to the day they have the meet and greet. When the had the Sooner Run tournament back in 2006 on Grand Lake I took my son. He was 6 at the time. All the pros were more than willing for pictures and autographs. Scott Rook actually picked my son up and put him in his boat! Everyone was a class act!

I purchased the 5 or 6 pack they had boxed together this last summer. I never tried them. I also purchased some Sebile jointed swimmers. I haven't tried those either. Keep us posted and let us know what you think!

I love those baits as well. I used them for a tourny on shaky heads. The tourny was on Grand. I got 2 good keeper bites and landed them both. I would have weighed 1 fish otherwise.

I have a buddy that is deathly afraid of snakes. So I basically purchased one of those big fake ones and hooked it to my line when he wasn't looking. I played like I hooked a good one and faked the fight. I told him to get the net and when I pulled it up he freaked out! He started screaming and cussing. He jumped out of the boat into the lake. When he resurfaces I am cracking up. He hasn't taken me fishing since! lol

One thing I don't see much anymore is inserting the jig head in the tube. From time to time I use that method if I can't get bit when I'm fishing a T-rig or weightless tube.

I like the original Z-Man the best. I am also with bluebasser86 on colors and blade combos. I fish a lot of nasty looking water. I use 20lb braid with no leader and use the same type rod I use with a spinnerbait. I am mostly a bank fisherman. I do enter tournaments occasionally as a non-boater. I tend to throw these baits when everyone is throwing spinner baits or crank baits. My retrieve varies. I usually swim it while I pump my rod from 10 to 12. The fish will dictate how I work them tho.

I like using the Jackal iShad.

The ol' saying comes to mind. If you buy a used boat it just means throw another thousand at it! Well in that case it would be throw a few more thousand! I do know that guys in the lower ranks of tournaments have to purchase a boat out of their own pockets. Skeeter for example, requires them to purchase a new boat every 2 or 3 years. Those guys take care of them so that way they can get more out of the resale. I would still be leery tho!

He was trying a dropshot in the first round. It didn't work. Then he went to a shaky head I think and started catching fish. In the second round, If I heard him rite, he said he wanted to go to the pilings for something different. That didn't work out and the sudden death killed him.

I read an article in BAM this morning. BASS rookie of the year Brandon Card used longlining on Douglas Lake in 2012. He said he used the 30-plus, Hot Lips, Fat Free Shad, and SK 6XD. They were getting 28 plus feet deep.

Haters gonna hate. I've fished unpressured ponds and lakes before. You can pull some big fish out when you get the opportunities. To say an ethical man and icon is basically cheating is a bold statement. Proove it or move along.

I have a wife that doesn't mind. I get to spend a reasonable amount on tackle and gear every year. I just had to tell her when you need a flat head screwdriver for the job you don't go grab a phillips head. The light bulb went off. I'm a lucky guy!

My first bait caster was a Quantum. That was 20 years ago! I have never purchased another one. I have had quite a few different brands. Rite now I'm stuck on BPS PQ's. For the money a great reel.

Senko and crankbait. By finding this forum I'm hoping to change that though!
