  1. My spinning reels are lefty. I have 2 flipping reels that are lefty. All the rest are right. The flipping reels are lefty because it just feels weird to even try using my left to pitch and flip.
  2. I hope it's Ott. Not Ike! ;-)
  3. I am not one to debate. I was just being lazy.
  4. Skiatook is tough no matter what time of year for bass. You have to find the sunken brush piles. Hybrids are usually good on live bait. Keystone is a good lake. ^^^^ Just like Long Mike said Ft. Gibson meets your criteria. I would go there for bass over Skiatook or Keystone.

  6. Nah. Time on water is priceless. If you want to find structure that you can't see you'd obviously need electronics. Start with the obvious structure. Structure you can see. Standing timber, laydowns, and points. Fan cast points. Drag it every direction. The best advice I can give you is this; Decide what 3 baits or techniques you want to use. Take those only. Leave everything else at home. If it is a technique your not familiar with make yourself figure it out. I try new things every year. When I pre fish for a tournament, all I have is a John boat with a trolling motor. I always take something that I have no confidence in and give it a try. I have in the past taken something I have never tried or had confidence in and gained confidence. Good luck!
  7. I plan on giving their drop shot hooks a try this year.
  8. Laydowns. Chunk rock. Main and secondary points. Depending on the time of spring it could be spawn or post spawn. Basically throw everything everywhere. Carolina rig the points though.
  9. Depending on what time of year this would vary. So I will give you a normal springtime day with decent weather on how I'd fish. Morning- think topwater. A frog or buzzbait. The first couple hours anyway. If it stays cloudy throw a spinnerbait or a chatterbait. Mid day- white tube/black fleck or creature bait in same color. Pitching around visible cover. A squarebill crank or carolina rig. Afternoon-Jigs and shaky heads. (including swim jigs) The only thing I would change is, if conditions are tough, I'd use a drop shot and shaky head throughout the day more.
  10. When ESPN purchased the rites that was probably one of the reasons. It seems I read an article in BASS Times or Bassmaster that there was more of an opportunity for bigger bags of fish to weigh. From other years, that I remember, that it was hotter than heck when they would have it. IMO I would like to see it move around actually. For instance. September or October up north. Down south Feb-April. Just a thought.
  11. What type of bait were you using PB?
  12. I disagree. I have caught bass with more than one tap. I believe it depends on what type of bait you use. More taps, if it's a bass, means they are trying to crush the bait before completely getting it in their mouth.
  13. I haven't met Dion. His father Guido is a riot! He was at one of the Bassmaster University events that I attended. In 2007, a Bassmaster elite Tournament was on Grand. They had a meet and greet event the night before the tournament. All the pros were very kind. I talked to Ish about frogging he gave me some tips. Scott Rook picked up my son, put him in the boat, and opened up a box and told him to pick out a package of soft plastics. My son was beaming. They are all class acts!
  14. Beginning Monday at noon, you can enter the Tulsa World Outdoors Weigh-In Challenge. In this challenge, you must guess the biggest bag weight for each of the 3 days of the Bassmaster Classic, Feb. 22-24 There will be one winner for each day of the Classic. You have until Thursday, Feb. 21 at 11:59 p.m. to submit your guesses for each day of the tournament. Winners will be announced on Monday, Feb.25 www.tulsaworld.com/bassmaster ^^^ That was in the Tulsa World this morning. I figured I would pass this along to my fellow bass resource folks. A list of prizes is listed on the site. Just remember that you only get a limited amount of visits to the internet site without a subscription to the paper. If you enter, good luck! Darin
  15. I caught my first smallie this last year. Man what a rush. I hear there are some monsters in Texoma. Good luck in your quest!
  16. It starts Feb. 22nd. They usually have discounts on some of their merchandise at 50%. Most everything in the flyer is discounted. But my suggestion is to go in to the store anyways. They always have other things on sale at huge discounts. It is a time to stock up for sure!
  17. Based on the weather pattern they're predicting, you might just get your wish.
  18. The PQ's are awesome reels. I picked up 5 before Christmas. They had them for 80. I have heard they have had them on sale as low as 60-70 before. I believe the way these reels perform, that they are a steal at 80.
  19. I love my Falcon rods. I doubt they would put the Buccoo on sale though. I don't have any Buccoo's but I have heard they are decent rods. For the price IMO I would pay a little more and go with the Lowrider series. It is worth the extra 30-50 bucks. You could turn in some of your old rods to get some money off a new one.
  20. IMO the shocks are better. The older lightning rods would compare to the BPS
  21. I just returned home from the Kid Rock concert in Tulsa. This concert would rank as my #2. My first choice would have to be Metallica. I am a lover of live music and I am always looking forward to see bands I've never seen before. So with your answers, it might just peek my interest to go to one that's your favorite. Tell a story to go with it if you want! Thanks and have fun with it.
  22. I read an article in Bass Times that a guy had started recycling plastics a tournaments and melting them down and pouring new ones. I would rather see stations at local sporting good stores where we could do more of that rather than banning certain things. Like jerzeeD said they are just trying to justify their salaries.
  23. I stopped by mine today. I seen a few items marked down about 20%. Nothing much more than that. I didn't buy anything. I usually do score from time to time! A few years ago I cleaned up the Chatterbaits and Arkie football jigs. A buck a piece. I cleaned them out one time when they miss marked the Booyah Pond Magic baits. A buck a piece.
  24. Their site states that if you missed the airing on NBC it will be aired in the Primetime slot on the outdoor channel Thursday February 14th. I missed it on NBC. My DVR has been set for the other MLF shows so I'll watch it then. Just a friendly public service announcement from gripnrip!
  25. Try unloading the app. Then reload the app. I have to do this from time to time to get my android platform to work. I don't know if it is just an update issue or just that the technology moves so fast.
