  1. 1/2 oz Saphire blue fish-scale homemade chatter bait.
  2. I like using live magic shads on the 4 outside. A natural color. Then on the middle wire I typically use a Boot tail with shad/chartreuse color on a small scrounger head.
  3. You bet. That was my intention. I have ADD and can easily lose track of what I have and what I'm doing. I'm always yelling "squirrel!" Which is how I explain where my mind goes. Nah nah land lol Ummmmm yes. But she has no clue what kind of dough that pesky bait monkey makes me spend. It's like buying a bigger house. Gotta feel all those empty spaces now!
  4. drill 2 small holes and use small zip ties. If you need a pic let me know.
  5. I like this idea a little better than the one I've came up with. I use small shoe totes to store mine in while on the boat. I'll give this a shot and see if it's any better.
  6. I have that problem too, Farmer. Hopefully this will help that problem quite a bit once it is sorted out. There are other drawers that I have just thrown plastics in based on type. Worms, craws. swim baits, etc. . . . . I will sort and organize them a little as soon as I can come up with a system. The building I am using, my dad purchased from a guy replacing his box on his box truck. It has an overhead door and side door access. This past summer we were given some composite lumber and we replaced the floor with that. It not only stores our fishing gear it also stores our hunting gear with the exception of our firearms.
  7. I came across a stack of old drafting drawers. So I have just used them for tackle storage. Everything is out of the boat and stored in these drawers. Each tournament and trip I can pull what I want and load the boxes accordingly.
  8. I don't have many but this is my container.
  9. First pic is my dad coming along for my little girls first trip to fish. It has to be one of my all time favorite pics. The last 2 are of me and the boy fishing a yearly tournament called fishing pals. This past year we fished a local team trail and finished 14th out of 40 teams. Making memories.
  10. I'm not new but I'm back. I have been really busy this last year and a half. I look forward to chatting with some familiar peeps. Darin
  11. Congrats! I went back to school in 09' so I could get upgraded at work. It was the toughest thing I ever went through. It seemed like the 10 months dragged and dragged but it was worth it. It provided a 35% increase in pay for my family. It allowed my wife to stay at home with our little girl. So when you say the reward is worth it. I second that! Congratulations once again!
  12. $5,000 to $7,500 will get you a nice used boat around here. If I were you I'd take Francho's advice. That is what I'm doing. I have about $3,000 saved up from doing odd jobs and cutting grass. That way I don't take away from my income. You might also look around in some surrounding states. If you know what your looking at you could save some money if your willing to travel. Just my 2 cents
  13. I caught my first bass slow rolling a Strike King 38 special through lily pads in a farm pond. Blue and yellow skirt with white blades that had silver flake on them. I still have the bait. The skirt band has since rotted. I keep it in a zip lock bag in my man cave.
  14. You just had to bring back this thread didn't you? Man it was tough watching my Sooners get SMACKED down. I will not elaborate as to what I think the problem is so I will spare all of you! Anyways. I still remember the Big 8 days! Heck I even remember sitting on the living room floor after Thanksgiving dinner to watch my Sooners take on the Huskers. Man I miss those days!!!!!
  15. I had it about 4 weeks ago. After almost 2 weeks of being sick, a trip to the Dr. and a trip to urgent care, I felt better. The dry cough I had was horrible. The last time I had the flu was in 2007. I felt like I was going to die. This time I was just miserable.
  16. I'll be purchasing one of these! BBZ-1 Rat! http://www.***.com/Spro_BBZ-1_Rat/descpage-SBBZR.html
  17. ddavis74055@yahoo.com I'm fixing to start tying my own! Thanks
  18. Boomer Sooner. It is going to be a landmark year for college football. PLAYOFF! I just hope my Sooners are in the top 4! Oh and really Sam??? No respect since they don't have a conference championship game? SMH. lol
  19. Our club does paper tournaments this time of year. GRAD only allows a 3 fish limit if you weigh them. So we do a paper tournament. We use the gator grip board that has the weight conversion at the top of the board. We usually have a non-boater and we both confirm what we are seeing. I once didn't have the fish bumped properly and the boater didn't catch it. I did. Rather than being dishonest, I bumped the fish again. Resulting in it being shorter. I think honesty is a must for a paper tournament. I meant to say G.R.D.A. (Grand River Dam Authority) During daylight hours only 3 fish. An all night tournament can be 5 fish.
  20. Boondock Saints
  21. If I were you, I'd save more money. I believe the 5,000 to 7,500 price range will get you a great boat. Also something else to think about is what comes with being a boater in a tournament. There is a lot more involved than you realize. For example. I have been using my boss's boat. He was kind enough to approach me and offer the use of it. So I jumped on the opportunity. Well Sunday I had to change a flat tire on the trailer and I was far from prepared. Thank goodness for my fellow club members pitching in to help with a better jack than my truck had and a 4 way tire iron. All things I didn't think of. Just my 2 cents.
  22. The $20 Rapala is the one I have. The only way to get a scale to be accurate is get it calibrated. All I want one for is to have an idea. I weighed one Sunday on that scale. It weighed 5-7. That is what it weighed when I put it on our club scale.
  23. 1/2 oz football. I used a Missile D-bomb as a trailer. That color was Super bug.
  24. Thanks man! That is an awesome site!
