  1. I cut down a broken rod. I attached and old baitcaster to the reel seat. I then went to BPS and purchased their plug knocker that is super cheap. I threaded the string on the reel and WALLAH! a cheap plug knocker. Or you can purchase an expensive one. The one I made paid for itself the first bait I retrieved.
  2. My vote is yes and yes Mike. IMO there are colors I would have purchased a while back had you offered them in that series. Also I know you probably would have customized some for me. It would make it easier if I didn't have to personally have to contact you other than a quality issue. But with Siebert I doubt I'll ever have to do that! ;-)
  3. Good to here LM. The ice storm was a nasty one. We spent weeks helping neighbors and friends cleaning up that storm.
  4. I dvr'd ax men just to fast forward to Shelby's parts in the show. I will be watching for sure! Here we goooooo paw paw!
  5. That fish kinda looks like me. A big mouth and no butt.
  6. If you need any help PM me. I have a chainsaw and would be willing to come and cut limbs if needed.
  7. EWG for the magnum!
  8. Depends. For you I would suggest straight or offset shank. The straight tail worms aren't that thick unless you are using like a Zoom magnum finesse. Which is one of my favorite worms to use about 75% of the time. Oh and you're welcome! Keep us posted how you do. ;-)
  9. Also search for Glenn's video on Carolina rigging. It will help you out tremendously.
  10. I use a 7' heavy Falcon Lowrider lizard dragger. I never use anything smaller than 7". I'm not saying you can't use anything smaller, I just don't. I rig a 4/0 hook bare minimum. For larger baits i use a super line hook. I would say the reason you aren't hooking up very well would be due to hook size. With the 5" use a regular 3/0. With the 7" use a 4/0. Up your rod to a MH bare minimum and see how you do.
  11. Be a little more specific. I will say a medium rod is to light IMO.
  12. Creep a hollow bodied frog over the slop.
  13. I miss them too man. I am a horrible C-rig guy. I don't plan on giving up anytime soon tho ;-)
  14. Nice little chunk. I'd say 2.5 to 3.
  15. x2. My pops has the Vanguard and loves it!
  16. My biggest fish this year has came off of a Siebert 1/2 oz black/blue football jig. So Siebert gets my vote. You can get custom jigs starting at 2.50 a pop.
  17. No. You miss them because, well you just miss them. Too many reasons to list. 4/0 will not hinder the action. In most style of worms the action is in the tail. I use 4/0 for 7" and 5/0 or 6/0 for 10".
  18. It wouldn't hurt to try. A mod in another forum on a site that sells them stated what I said above. He did say there was a big difference from a size 1 to a 1/0. I have read where pros will up their sizes if it doesn't deter the action.
  19. Of course they don't. The tips we get now work but have been used exclusively up until now. They are very hush hush on a lot of their techniques. I read that Ish will go to Japan in his off season and spend $1500 on gear you can't get over here. All I hear him talk about are frogs and D-bombing.
  20. $500 plus a month here. I have a 14 year old boy that has 2 hollow legs. Thank goodness he's here only half the time. I could see it going up 200 to 250 a month.
  21. I don't think it will bother the braid. Pack your leader line in with your lunch and take it with you inside the workplace!
  22. Yes Brian. That was my comment on the thread. Without looking, I don't know if ww2farmer stated what hooks for the 10xd. I did some study and what I found on searches other than this site is to use size 1 hooks on those. They stated the 1/0 was to big. I didn't throw my 10xd's Sunday because I couldn't find the hooks I wanted. I will definitely use them in next months tourny.
  23. I had 5 bites Sunday and one hookup with a black jackall with purple sides hollow frog. Frogs are awesome and can outshine any other bait even in open water at times. The 14 oz fish that I caught hit the frog so hard it turned the hooks to the opposite side of the bait. I thought I'd hooked a toad! lol
  24. The Mustad KVD hooks work great. Read this thread. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/119876-kvd-10-hook-change/
  25. Well I went out to the shed to do some tractor work around the house Sunday, and the friggin tractor had a flat on the front tire. While I hogged the lease, I ran over some sapling thorn trees. Long story short the tire is toast and full of those thorns. It isn't hunting season yet and I'm out 140 bucks already!!!!!
