  1. He does but I bet eventually he goes the way Bill and Hank did. A fishing show and sponsorships. He has a big part in the Profound Outdoor line of baits and website.
  2. Oh I could guess that easily. Duckett rod commercials every time you turn around and an official sponsor.
  3. Hmmmm. I'd say keep your rod tip higher than you normally would and use a beaver style bait as a trailer. Like a Missile D-bomb or a RE beaver.
  4. And that is how you learn! When I want to learn a new technique, I leave everything else at the house. It forces you to fish that bait and that bait only! Example- When I first started shooting a rifle or shotgun, my pops handed me a single shot. He emphasized to make that shot count because you only have one. I had to prove myself with the single shot. In a way, fishing the jig only, is your single shot. Make it count because that's all you have to fish with. Get some confidence in the bait. When you do, then it will be another tool in the box you can use.
  5. With the reel trade in being extended, I will be purchasing one of those studs Saturday!
  6. I seen in the newest Bassmaster mag, on the 10-minute angler page, he now has a baitcaster. Interesting. Anyways. I have looked into getting some of his rods. Based on the reviews I found, I lost interest. I decided to not purchase one. But that was before I became a member here. A lot of guys on here like the rods. I am not in the market for any rods at the present time. On another note. Bobby Lane is tough as hell on these rods on MLF. He's broken a couple. One over his knee when he didn't make the cut and the other was a spincast that broke when he casted. I broke rite at the reel seat.
  7. Don't give up on jigs. I haven't had much luck in them in the past. . . . . . . until last year! Something clicked! A jig is the most versatile bait in one's box IMO. You can imitate anything a bass will eat. And it will overall be one of the baits that you'll catch big fish with once mastered.
  8. Good to know! Thanks Hootie!
  9. Now those are some ninja skills right there!
  10. You won't be disappointed. I was skeptical at first. I clip mine on a belt loop to have it handy when needed.
  11. You need a MH in your arsenal IMO. MH helps you drive those heavier hooks home when t-rigging or jig fishing. Most generally, the top of the mouth where hook ups happen. The mouth is harder there.
  12. What is sleep? I have a toddler. I won't be able to fish competitively until May. What I do about an hour before bed is no and I repeat no computer or cell phone. I take some melatonin. I read a book. Something preferably non fishing related. I usually don't have a problem after those steps. Although I do think and anticipate the next day but I'm ready to go to bed.
  13. Testosterone and a side of beef!
  14. I was at the 06 and 07 Sugar Bowls. Two games I want to forget. Thank goodness for Margaritaville! Edit: Woops, meant Fiesta Bowls.
  15. Ice occasionally. The area where last years BASS Classic was launched out of, was iced over. It is rare any of our lakes ice at all. Ponds or smaller bodies of water will ice over more often. Even then, not so much. The last couple of years has been the difference. We've had some record lows in the single digits. We had a few days it was 0, which is very rare.
  16. I love the Zoom magnum 4" finesse on mine. When I want more action, I'll give these a try. Thanks Mike!
  17. Beee the line, beee the rod, beee the reel...... nanananana nuhnuhnuhnuh Sorry couldn't resist. It's peaceful, man. That's the main reason I hunt and fish. It isn't whether I catch or kill anything. It is getting away from a loud shop environment and relaxing. control/alt/delete. Reboot.
  18. I take it you didn't like him when he was there?
  19. I make my own the the teardrop style gremlin weights. 5/0 superline hook and 2 split rings. I'll try the speed clip idea. It sounds great! JFracho uses this technique as well.
  20. It actually comes down to a color I "despise" Why? It might have something to do with back in the late 90's. It seemed every vehicle I owned wound up being green. But I durn sure won't buy something that every time I look at it I will hate it! Even tho it performs to my expectations.
  21. Someone beats the almighty SEC and they want a rule change. BOO-HOOOO! http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10552938/nick-saban-alabama-crimson-tide-says-pace-play-bears-closer-look Oh yeah. Forgot. BOOOOOOOOOOOOMER!
  22. 36-24-36 that fish was 5'3"! Baby got gut!
  23. Dang who would of thought! Besides SPEED anyways!
