  1. Nice. Looks a lot like Claremore Lake.
  2. I'd like to see some more epic fantasy stuff myself. I'm sick of all the super hero remake crap!
  3. I purchased the Ci4 7:6:1 specifically for jig fishing. The reason. . . . . because I wanted to. 32" a turn helped that decision as well. I have never owned a Lew's. I have a Curado I on the way. A better comparison like stated above would be a Curado I vs the Bb1 or a Tatula vs Bb1. I am completely happy with my Ci4. It will cast the lighter baits a mile, just like Tywithay stated above. I will be getting at least 2 more for finesse fishing since they do well with lighter baits.
  4. Great tip smalljaw. Thanks. I have 3 magic swimmers and I had given up on them.
  5. That could be true. When I read Brent Chapman's article after he won AOY, he talked about having lower back pain. One of the things he talked about was how he had gotten it under control. I asked him in a PM how he was able to do so. He gave me links to an article on Field and Stream's website. He said that he used the same guy that the article talked about. I was glad I received a reply. I didn't think I would have gotten one.
  6. x2 I start out buying something specific. Just because a rod I have states "Carolina Lizard Dragger" doesn't mean that I'll only use it that way. I have used this rod for jigs and heavy T-rigging. I look more at the line and weight recommendations than anything.
  7. I fish. I hunt. It is what I spend my money on. I don't get manicures, pedicures, or $150 hair appointments. She spends money how she wants and I do to. Comments have been made though, "Why do you need more lures? You have some I bet that have never even seen water!" It happens. I'm not any good at bass fishing. I am however better since I found this site. x2,000 on her getting a pass on the pregnancy! Just get her back by turning the little into a mini me and rub it in!
  8. I've sent some PM's to some of the pro's. They have all responded. Although I sent the messages what would be considered the off season for the tournament trails. I believe they try and stay in touch with the fans as best they can.
  9. A custom tied jig. Multiple head color choices. Good quality hooks. Starting at 2.75 a pop! What's not to like about that?! If you have anything special in mind and email Mike, he'll get it done if he can!
  10. It probably is because of all the snobs that look out their lake view window and they don't want to see any weeds. "It isn't very pleasing to the eye, Dear." (as I say that through clenched teeth and arrogant voice)
  11. Welcome! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMER!
  12. Dang! That's pretty high for a bag! If you aren't worried about looks, BPS has one for 30 bucks. Boxes aren't included. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Extreme-Qualifier-360-Backpack-or-System/product/10204414/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT I purchased this one for 60 without boxes. I fish as a co-angler and it will double for my bank fishing. http://www.basspro.com/XPSStalker-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/10221672/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT Although some of the reviews aren't good, I haven't had any problems yet.
  13. I just checked the weather. Rain is fixing to move in. High of 50 today. Tomorrow the low is a little warmer at 52 and high of 78.
  14. It wasn't warm Sunday! LOL 2 fish and a little over 4 pounds won it. I see you live in Kansas and the weather there is about the same as here. You just get more snow and it's usually a little colder. On another note. The DOW is saying the spawn is upon us! So we'll see. I'm heading to some water tomorrow and do a little fishing.
  15. It takes discipline for sure! I am on a mission this year to catch a fish off of a 6" swimbait or larger one. I have some Hudds on order. I check my email 4 times a day to see if they've shipped! I purchased some Mattlures U2's and a few new 6" baits that have just came into production this past September. I threw one of those Friday and man I'm impressed. Not that I have a d**n clue as to what I'm doing! LOL I am just going to keep chuggin and a winding!
  16. I primarily fish from shore. Ponds or small lakes. Here is a bank fishing thread. It is a good read. Contribute if you'd like. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/126667-bank-fishing-forum/ A solid piece of advice I can give you. Invest in a good telescoping lure retriever. I normal plug knocker sometimes won't work. The reason is you can't get directly above the bait to knock it loose. I was fishing about 3 weeks ago. I wound up snagging a few square bills in some grass and I couldn't shake them loose. I could see them less than 4-6 feet away from me in about 2 feet of water. I went in after them. Long story short the water was COLD! I then went and purchased a good retriever.
  17. Rub it in some more Shane!

    Buffs

I don't care what I look like. I'd rather use a buff instead of applying sunscreen. I do care about getting a sunburn.
  19. You'll need one tied on for Grand the 27th!
  20. I don't believe so. They are always on sale this time of year no matter what model.

    Buffs

I use one exclusively now. I am redheaded. I wind up looking like a boiled lobster if I don't. I will be purchasing some gloves this year. I also went with long pants and a long sleeve shirt with protection built into them. I don't want to do anymore damage than I already have done to my skin.
  22. A shaky head with a 4" Zoom magnum worm. For color, pick your poison.
  23. Sorry not to thread jack you Amarely. Check this thread out Xyndifor. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/72766-a-rare-insight-into-crankbait-fishing/
  24. Man, what a battle! LOL I respectively agree with Tom, Catt, and ShaneJ. All you fellas catch toads on separate coastlines. Last but not least Big O as well. I met ShaneJ and Big O last year in Tulsa during the Classic. Great guys! I look forward to meeting other bass resource members one day. We are all passionate about our opinions and our experiences. I can state the obvious for me as well as other members. I thought I was a decent bass fisherman until I joined this site. HMPH. I had no idea what the hell I was doing. Being a member here has taken me to a new level. And I owe it to all the members here. I take the advice from the more seasoned veterans to heart. I love all the guys advice that I stated above and others too. Glenn, Long Mike, 00mod, JFrancho to name a few more. Thanks for being passionate and helping the handicaps like me with our future adventures. Darin
  25. You probably heard it here. I don't do maintenance on my reels. I am going to start tho. Based on the videos and recommendations on here, they say the manufacturers pack the reels with extra grease. The reason is most folks, including myself, don't take reel maintenance seriously. Due to me upgrading my gear, I will be taking better care of my reels and rods since I'm sinking more money into them. Also based on what I've read here, I'm going to give the Tatula a good go when I get the funds.
