Well this is great! I'm still at 0 bass length so far.. but Friday, Friday I'm going fishing for sure!!!

I think FL record is exactly 14lbs, and it's by the same guy who had previous record of 12lbs 5oz. Time to step up my game...

My sentiments exactly! I went bass fishing yesterday, and all I got was 3 stupid snakeheads! LOL! Here's a pic of the larger one from yesterday:

Let's do this again! Tournament starts today Jun 7th, and ends Jun 30th on Sunday. That's 24 days. Top 5 combined lengths win! i don't mind rain, it brings the water levels up! but what they did to my canal is barbaric!!!

it's not, because that one was not caught on a rod and hook :-P

I recommend Booyah Pod Crasher JUNIOR. I noticed I catch same size bass on a smaller frog but my hookup ratio went way up. oh, and no drag. zero. nada. that was the trick to increasing my hookup ratio by 500%. also, conditions permitting, if you can cast onto the shore and then slowly pop the frog into the water, you get almost instant strikes, rather than dropping it a foot or two away from shore and into the water. i made that mistake few days ago, and dropped a frog right on top of a snakehead, spooking it in the process :-(

well good it wasn't the bullseye snakehead, because i still want to beat that record that's at 12lbs 5oz right now :-P

what? more rains? man it hasn't stopped raining in coral spring for like 10 straight days now... wth...

man i love that picture!!! i've seen the same thing twice this weekend in my canal. i spotted two groups guarding fry withing 100-150 yards of each-other.

So I woke up yesterday morning only to find the canal behind my house with about 1.5-2ft lower water level than the day before!!! Looks like someone has been opening the flood gates here in S.FL. as a reaction to the recent downpours. It looks like it flushed a lot of fish out of my canal :-( I'm gonna go cry like a little girl now...

+1 I hear they live in good harmony with other species in S. FL.

yeaaaa, they also happen to be my favorite fish to catch :-) and release :-P i guess i don't mind that my little canal is full of them, as long as that canal is all mine for fishing :-) and so far i only saw people fish there on 3 occasions (lived there for over a year now). one guy on a boat throwing spinner baits, one neighbor throwing topwater frog, and some kids with worms and bobbers and next time i see a school of small snakeheads i'll catch one and put it in a tank LOL

Thanks! That's how I always did it in the past, breading with seasoning and eggs. I'll only eat smaller ones, hear they taste their best at around 14", plus heavy metal content is lower. Anything over 15-16" will be promptly released after being photographed :-P On foil with pepper and lemon juice sounds like something I need to try! I like your thinking with butter and garlic! My best friend used to say that "the only thing you shouldn't eat with garlic is vanilla ice-cream, and even that is up for debate!" HAHAHAHAH!!!! You got it! She brought me some Zubrowka and Sliwowica (disgusting plum vodka!!!!) last time. Zubrowka is good, especially when on ice and with a splash of apple cider!!! Now I can actually buy it at my local Crown Wine and Liquor a mile from my house :-)
