  1. I havent fished Rodman since the beginning of summer. I moved to Alaska so my fishing is for halibut and salmon nowadays. However it was absolutely deadly before summer. Rodman does tend to slow down this time of year and the days get hotter there. I had sucess on flukes and shad colored crankbaits shallow runners. I lived there in Jacksonville for 4 years before I moved here and the pattern pretty much stayed the same there. The clearer the water is the tougher it can be. Just move around and find the muddier water. Rodman is still Rodman. The fish are there. You just gotta find them. Good luck!
  2. Went to Rodman most of the day today and then came back and hit my pond off Belfort for a bit. Caught 4 in an hour on the same bait I used at Rodman. Caught around 15 at Rodman. Got this big 6.6 and also had a 4 and a 3. I limited out by 11:00 a.m. but she bit at 2:30. Shad crankbait. Stop and Go retrievel.
  3. Went Friday to Rodman. Caught probably 25 or so. 7 keepers. Alots of dinks. Biggest being about 2.5 but they were mostly males. Cold weather pushed the females off I think. Hopefully these couple of warm days will turn the big ones on again.
  4. Here are pics of my bigest two:
  5. I caught about 12 today. Had four keepers one weighed about 5 pounds and another about four I will post pictures tonight. Caught them on flukes and frogs. Ill message you details when I get home.
  6. What did you throw? Flukes? I have never fished from ramp to canal. I usually start out into the canal or just pick a spot in that forest field.
  7. I put in at the Kenwod ramp. I usually fish the canal and up around the d**n usually. Yea we had about 15 keepers and probably put that many back that were in the 12-13 inch range. I havent been back since but I am going tomorrow. Let yall know how it goes.
  8. I think we all can help each other out here. I know you guys were very helpful when I first joined and pointed me in the right direction. MCS is always posting what he used and what was working and if you look back on this thread has listed several spots to fish. Some people just don't know where to go much like I was when I came here.
  9. Rodman Reservoir
  10. I was there last week. Caught 25-30 with the biggest being about 6. I was fishing flukes but using them weightless. Caught some on carolina rig and crankbait too. It is definately on down there. Gonna go back Thursday.
  11. My personal preference is a 7 foot heavy action rod and a reel that has a flipping switch on it. I have a Shimano but I use 50lb Spiderwire Braid simply because it will bend a hook before it breaks and its good when heavy flipping around brush and hard grass. This time of year I throw it from anywhere from 3-25 feet depending on water temp and air temp. The way Florida changes in weather so much you have to just search around sometimes. Flipping deep docks works well too. Hope this helps.
  12. Thats a good morning. That looks like the Skinner pond.
  13. Navybass where on base do you fish? I am Coast Guard so I have access to those as well. I live not far from you. I havnt tried the Publix pond yet. I went to the one on Beach and San Pablo thinking it was there and could not find it. I tried the one at Kernan and JTB a couple weeks ago but no luck. I have seen people fishing there.
