Trust me when I tell you've I searched every possible resource I have. To try to find places near the Houston Texas area to fish from shore. Now don't get me wrong they're are a few places. And the majority of those are a hassle to do inaccessible shore line or gators. The others are family parks that have small fish for kids to enjoy.
Does anybody know of any good spots near the houston area, where a shore fisherman can get his fix. All suggestions will be considered, and appreciated.
My favorite days are actually those days when you have one rod on the deck and everything else is in the rod locker. But more often than not the bass are changing and we're constantly having to test the gamet of presentations against the mood of the bass.
Plus we have all these fun toys and it seems a shame to leave them in their tackle boxes too long.
How many combos do you find yourself fishing on an average fishing trip? How many would you like to have to be "comfortable" with not having to retie your lures all the time on a fishing trip?
So the keys to a good jerkbait combo in our mind are as follows:
1) A shorter length that you can twitch easily downward.
2) A medium action with a moderate tip for casting and working the bait.
3) A low profile reel that you can grip easily while jerking all day.
4) A high-speed ratio reel that can take up slack quickly on a bite.
5) A light combo can alleviate fatigue when jerkbait fishing all day.
What jerkbait combos do you like? Any perfect rigs you've found?
I can't explain how much I appreciate all the feed back form you guys. It all makes sense and is a great deal of needed information, all to make my fishing experience more fulfilling... THANKS TO ALL
How important is having a knowledge of Moon Phase, as it relates to fishing for bas?. What is to be determined, and what is the correlation if any to weather conditions?
Ok cool. I've got an Abu Garcia Blue Max combo. It's the only combo I have that match. But I've never tried to use light line on. I'll give it a shot thanks Roadwarrior
Is it a must to use a spinning reel set up when throwing light line or wieghtless lures? Or is there a bait casting reel available that's specifically designed for light line/lures or is it always dependent on how you set up your bait-caster which will enable you to throw light line/lures?
4.15lbs Bass was caught on a H2O express frog that I modified with glass worm rattles, cut an inch of the legs, and dipped the leg strands in scent. That bass couldnt resist slamming that frog right in the thick lilly pads, and has since then become my PB
