  1. Went to The d**n in Swansea, skunk....few little hits here and there but nothing. was on shore, throwing everything in my bag. hopefully this week i can venture out in the canoe in milford and maybe shoot over to westport.
  2. in my canoe ive been using a 10lb mushroom, i DO NOT move in heavy winds lol
  3. I got all my hit on my red/black weedless jig. without a fish finder and new to the water and it was tough finder the small ledge areas they were hiding out at. def have to work on my hook setting. I got a bunch of hits but only pulled in a few. Just means I need to fish more!!
  4. Went out on the canoe, paddled out at about 9. Caught nothing for about an hour. Drop shots brought no luck, same with worms. Switched to a jig and caught 2 bass, under 3 lbs and 2 pickerel. It was nice to just be out there for a few hours!!
  5. South coast. Somerset, Dighton area
  6. drove by a few down by me, ice is pretty much gone. Taking the canoe out of hibernation early sat morning and going out!! better then being at home looking at my honey do list
  7. Eyes peeled for tomorrow. I hope it melts the couple places I want to go lol.
  8. Thursday its supposed to be 64 on the South Coast, hopefully that will make for a lot of open water and the beginning to my fishing season!!
  9. Us Army Reserves Diesel Mechanic(91B) H8 Wrecker operator 1999-current going on 18 years completed. Iraq 01-2003---12-2003 Keeping on going till i cant do it anymore, or as good as i should be
  10. awesome, finally got a trolling setup, so bigger waters are something i want to check out this year. I dont feel like spending all my effort and 30 mins paddling to where i want to fish. Ill leave that to my canoe camping trips
  11. Hey Rhino does that first small pond connect to the big one(Sawdy) via a canoe?
  12. http://www.texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=121567
  13. i use mine for my crawdad as well. Great little trailers for cheap money. save your back, roof, paint etc lol
  14. i load my 2012 Mazda 3 up with my 14ft Old tow on the roof, also have a small HF trailer for the crawdad i just picked up. i bought a hitch and trailer taillight kit from Etrailer. best prices and easy install.
  15. out on the pond today, caught a half dozen smalls, nothing major.but it was peaceful
  16. i have a 14ft Old town Hunter. Its 14ft and fits me and my 8 yr old just fine. i also solo out of it. weighs in at like 50lbs so not that bad.
  17. those look like a nice yak to get into yak fishing. wide and flat top. not sure how it would handle rough water
  18. ive heard the same thing. Im going to test it out like this first and see where i am before modding the suspension.its a matter of finding time and money to get the tongue piece to complete this thing..lol its killing me using it for storage in my garage.
  19. im replacing the tongue, its being registered as homemade so i dont need that info.it helps that my wife is my insurance agent..lol
  20. i love my canoe, still in the process of customizing to my likings, which in all seriousness could be a forever project..lol ive added seats and a few other things since the pics and trailer is almost done so no car topping or lifting high
  21. total cost so far is under $250.i think the tongue piece is another 50. so for 300 bux i have a nice little canoe hauler/kayak hauler with storage for a lot underneath. at the same time can take that off and have a open top to make those Home depot runs if i want or whatever else.
  22. Well as far as the trailer for me its the perfect size. i own a mazda3 so anything bigger would be to much for the car. I made the box part first, its fit to just be inside the frame so i wouldnt hit any bolts that hold the trailer and if i really wanted could add some stakes to slide into the trailer. The box itself is attached underneath with some bolts and big fender washers. that thing isnt going anywhere, but at the same time if i wanted i could unbolt it and put a different body on the frame for home depot runs ect. Im not really sure i under stand the spring question. i havent removed any yet. waiting on a test run to see if its too bouncy or not. If you need pics or anything ill be glad to help out.i got most of my ideas through the texaskayakfishing site.Just customize to your own likes.i do wish i made it a tad bigger to fit my paddles and or rods. lol
  23. thats my build. i havent finished because im waiting to buy the extended tongue. i plan on only trailering semi local so i wont see the highway. it is pretty simple to build. im no carpenter or anything so..lol...any questions ill be glad to help out
  24. thanks everyone for the welcome. its getting nicer by the day. almost that time. well ive been out fishing but not a ton of luck
  25. Went out yesterday.no bass but a couple of small pickerel.better then nothing.
