  1. In my opinion batteries are like Ford vs Chevy.. I am a large fan of the Optima batteries. I have had nothing but good luck myself with them. I have seen Optimas last one year and other Optimas last 7... The same goes for other brands.. What Group size battery are you looking for?
  2. That carbon fiber vinyl looks great out the gate however you better clear it or its not going to last long... The finished used to get the shimmer "real carbon" look scratches very easy... And when it gets warm from the sun it is even more susceptible to damage. Ask me how I know.. I wrapped an entire boat in it.
  3. The Silver Sportsman you see comes with a hard wired Dash switch and black reversing relay box. Also a different motor that sits on top of the pump. As you have read it has brushes in it. This unit does NOT come with a hand remote. Hand remote system from Power Pole runs 289.00. With this unit you will have to run wires from the rear of the boat to the dash. This unit takes longer to install sells for 995.00 The Sportsman 2 comes with a wirless dash switch AND hand remote. NO wires to run through the boat and NO reversing relay needed. A simple positive and negetive to the battery. Install time is much faster and more options are included in this unit. MAP is 1195.00 Stright forward opinion.. You will come out ahead going to the Sportsman 2. Rich
  4. Do you have an Interstate Batteries near you or another brand distributor? If so give them a call. ask them if they sell BLEM batteries. These are batteries that have a defect that come direct from the plant. The defect can be as simple as a dinged case or the post has a flaw in it etc. These batteries sell for half the price and can last you years. Will probably carry a 30 day warranty.. I would not hesitate to look into this. ALSO bring your bad battery with you. These type places will tend to try and hit you with what they call a core charge. Basically they want a battery in return for every battery they sell.. Other places will even buy your bad battery from you... Hope this helps
  5. This is not a normal or something thats to be expecter or accepted... Granted it can happen. The is generally from an improperly installed hydraulic line into a push-lock fitting. Or a damaged fitting. The older push lock fittings were also revised later on to include an insert which fit into the hydraulic line. PLEASE NOTE: ALL 2011 and newer power poles include a compression style fitting. The no longer use push lock fittings. This new style compression style fitting is similar to that used on a bathroom sink. Take the hydraulic line, slide the nut and a feral (sp) over the line, place into the fitting and hunker down... 6. Hope this helps and if anyone has any questions please feel free. The Sportsman2 and Pro2 are different in a handful of ways. Other than the visual (obvious) one the Pro2 carries a different pump. Not to be confused by the motor. The Pro2 and Spn2 share the same motor... Yes the Pro2 is Blue tooth capable and has a longer warranty. Although I have not placed on a scale I would bet the 2 units are with in 2lbs of each other do to the different designed stern bracket. Neither pole was built for a specific built material boat. Both models function and hold the same amount of hull weight. No wires are needed to run to switches. Simple positive and negative (just like competition). The pump is self-priming. Install time is on par with the competition as well. Dollar for dollar my opinion is you will come out ahead with a Power Pole purchase as well as durability and warranty...JMHO.. The Sportsman2 is a huge seller at its price point. One will want to step up to the Pro2 if warranty means anything to you (does me) and if being used in salt water. The Powder coating will hold up better and we all know warranty matters when subjected to salt... Any help needed please feel free Rich
