  1. Thanks! But are you saying the 50 size won't handle 15 or 20 pound line?
  2. So, does the size of a casting reel and how much line it holds important for most bass techniques? I can understand having a larger size reel if you are salmon fishing or something similar where you would expect big runs because you need more line just to make sure you don't come close to getting spooled. But this really isn't a concern with most bass/walleye fishing. I would think that if you have a reel that holds 120 to 140 yards of 12 pound mono, it's more than enough. Why would anyone put up with the additional weight of say a 150 or 200 size reel instead of a 100 size when it is not really needed?
  3. The premiers are around 30 bucks more at bass pro.
  4. Are there really any flouro advantages over braid except for invisibility?
  5. So, is this rod worth $100 or is it a overpriced brand name?
  6. So, is the preference for most a 6.5 ratio or a 7 plus ratio for this technique. I've always use a reel in the 6 range but am thinking about trying a faster reel. Would like to get some expert opinions from you guys first. Line is another thing. I see most of you use flouro but some use braid. What is the advantage to flouro over braid if you aren't dealing with clear water conditions? Thanks,
  7. So, if I spend the additional $30 on the curado, is it worth it? Is the difference in performance noticeable? Thanks!
  8. Looks like Shimano is very popular on this board. I will say that my old B series curados and Citicas have been great reels. But I know the new versions are a much different reel in many ways.
  9. Have always used the older pre-vented spool curados and have been thinking of stepping up to a higher performance reel. I can find all three of these casting reels in my budget range ($100 or so) new on ebay. The reel will be used mostly for spinnerbaits for smallies but could end up getting some use for heavier cranks. Suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks.
