  1. Sick bait! Yeah use a snap or split ring but not the stock one. I would use an owner hyperwire split ring instead. I fish mine (7" size) with the snap and haven't had any issues but I haven't caught any big fish with it either.
  2. praying for that.
  3. Having recently gotten a job as a part-time cashier at Harris Teeter, I went to the bank with my dad today to open a checking account. We opened the account and left. My dad had brought my passport and my Social Security card. when we got home, he realized that he only had the passport. We searched EVERYWHERE- The forms I had gotten from the bank, the car, around the car, in our pockets, the whole bottom floor of our house, and my dad went back to the bank and looked around the parking lot. The bank was closed at that point so my dad had to rely on the word of the employees that it wasn't where we were sitting. I am FREAKING OUT. I'm pretty sure thats all someone needs to steal my identity.
  4. He's caught at least three that size to the best of my knowledge. A 19.8, an 18.5, and that 17lber in the video.
  5. Just got back from watching it. Not going to post any spoilers but I will say that this is one movie you absolutely have to see in 3D at the theater. I saw it on Imax- insane. It's got really intense moments that will leave you cringing and extremely peaceful moments.
  6. Jig for sure. brown rubber/watermelon silicone
  7. Looks like really dark watermelon.
  8. nice! Yeah that might be a bit too windy. 5-10mph is ideal imo. Well, I should probably stop hijacking this thread.
  9. If they are still stuck to the band tape the ends off so the skirting doesn't go everywere and tie it to the jig with some florist's wire.
  10. gotcha. I hate when fish bat at wakebaits. That usually means it's not windy enough. Keep at it, I want to see a pig smallie.
  11. have you changed out the hooks yet? The stock ones are awful. Put ST-46's on it.
  12. I have some red gammys (finesse widegap) for wacky worms but I don't feel there is any difference or advantage to a red hook other than a slight visibility increase in stained water. The paint comes off really easily. However, if a company came out with green pumpkin or watermelon colored hooks i'd be all over that. Finicky fish pay attention.
  13. Swimbait- I prefer going for the big girls' attention with a natural bait rather than using a lipless crank.
  14. Heck yeah they're a go. If I were you I would learn the crazy alberto knot and use braid with a 25lb fluoro leader to reduce the chance of toothy critters stealing expensive baits. Get a couple bottles of mend-it too if you're going to fish softbaits. If you want a great starting lineup get a 6" bbz1 floater, a hudd, and a mattlures hardgill. Make sure you upgrade the stock hooks on the spro. Another awesome softbait is the 3:16 rising son.
  15. Owner!
  16. I have caught a bass with a turtle bite. There is one in my favorite pond that has a shell the size of a garbage can lid. Gotta be at least 60lbs. If I am fishing with my brother and he guthooks a bluegill I toss it to the turtle. It doesn't bother the bass (I caught the bitten bass somewhere else) so I don't mind it.
  17. Yup its bluegill for sure. They are a pain in the butt. A few weeks ago I was fishing a 5" worm on a shaky head and got two hits on separate casts. I finally got it on the third try and it was an 8" bluegill.
  18. I've caught at least a dozen this summer. The ponds I fish have about a foot of floating scum all along the bank and whenever I fish frogs along the bank and they come out of the cattails and eat it.
  19. thanks for the tips. I'll look for a shop in my area.
  20. LOL I can handle about 60lb draw pressure.
  21. never knew that. Thanks for the helpful tip.
  22. Hey guys that do archery/bowhunting what is a good starter compound bow for $200 or less? I have done archery three times- twice in PE and once at an amusement park and I like it enough to want my own bow. I don't hunt. I just want something to screw around with in my backyard and shoot practice arrows at foam blocks.
  23. Go out early in the morning or at night. I find that the peace and quiet calms my ADD down and I am able to fish more slowly.
  24. so, because someone has a question about an A-rig you have to give your personal opinion?
  25. 3.5" Craw D'oeurve. Why? It floats. Everyone is saying rage craws, which sink. Sinking baits are not what you want on a shaky head. Shaky heads are supposed to stand up. That's the whole point. I'm not saying anything againt rage craws, I love them as jig trailers but in this situation there are better baits.
