  1. sweet! Flip some beds for me and let me know if you catch any! -Cullen
  2. I do also see heavy cover flipping applications with this. Use a 4.5" tube with a 1 oz weight and a superline hook. (3/0)
  3. Anyone can use this rig. I wouldn't have shared it if I wanted to keep it a secret. and I think I will name it the Poisson rig. That is my last name, which coincidentally means fish in french!
  4. I just kinda invented a new rig I think.......I don't know what to call it, but what you do is push a bullet weight into a tube all the way into the nose, then you rig the tube backwards. What this does is when you have a tight line, then you can shake it, and it stays straight up and down, and digs on the bottom. As I can imagine, this would look like a baitfish or craw trying to eat the bass' eggs, therefore it kills the tube. It looks AWESOME when you hop it, too. Here's a pic of it. I haven't decided what to call it yet. I can't wait until march to catch some hogs!
  5. What is your favorite bait to use on a drop shot? I like the power team lures hammr shad the most. The tail floats so it is even with the head on a drop shot rig. I fish from shore so when I use roboworms the tail just sinks and I don't get any bites. I catch them on the hammer shad though.
  6. No idea. I haven't been there in maybe two years.
  7. So, I went to the local reservoir on Sunday for a few hours, casting from shore. The main vegetation in the lake at this point seems to be these thick, brown stems that are hollow in the middle and love to steal lures. I lost my brand new jerkbait and a damiki marusin jighead with a rage chunk on it. As soon as there is an exposed hook the stems steal your lure. The whole lake is like this. I don't really feel a drop-off in my casting range. There is a dam that I didn't get to fish the tailrace of, do you think that's where they are hiding? I'm rather limited in winter as a shore fisherman. Please help! I'm hopefully getting a blow-up kayak boat with pontoons for christmas so I wont be as limited as I have been in the past. Do you have any suggestions for fishing this lake? So, it has a chunky rock bottom and those d**n stem weeds.
  8. You can even get started with plaster of paris, water, a few baits, a pyrex container, and old baits to melt down. Normal handpour molds will come out with a flat side, but I have made a perfect senko mold. What you do is put a small, straightened hook into the nose of the senko, tie line to it, then hang it from something with an adjustable knot. You then pour your mixed plaster into a tall, skinny cup, then put the senko all the way down into it with a tiny bit sticking out. Then, when the mold is dry, pull the senko out, and you have a perfect mold. You don't need an injection mold for worms that are thick enough that pushing them into the plaster won't bend them.
  9. There was an article about this in an In-Fisherman magazine a while back. They were using it on suspending smallies in the top third of the water column.
  10. How about this spinnerbait? (Its my only one so I hope it works haha)
  11. I did notice something rather odd on the potomac river. Once the water hit about 45 degrees the fish just turned off, and I was using a weightless T-rigged senko. They should be still biting that right?
  12. how convenient. I just got a pack of strike king 5.5" shadalicious.
  13. Oh. Alright then haha I'll try that. I have some 4" roboworms that would work nicely.
  14. the jig is a flipping head mop jig, with a rage chunk trailer. Should I try a rage chunk on a shaky head?
  15. I fish from shore. Drop shots don't work that well at a 45 degree angle.
  16. What area do you live in?
  17. These are usually what I have tied on during the winter. Either the jig/rattlebait/jerkbait on my baitcaster and the tube or shaky head on my spinning rod. Is there anything else I should try? I catch them mostly on the jerkbait and slowly dragging the shaky head.
  18. Why does a senko wobble like it does? Is it the ribs? The formulation of the plastic? Anyone? -Cullen
  19. you can easily obtain a brand new jonboat for $200, and $50 for a set of oars and oarlocks. No need for a motor.
  20. I was in charlotte for thanksgiving and I caught the 6 pounder in my avatar. The water was about 50 degrees, I was just burning a strike kind redeye shad. Try a rattlebait or a black/blue jig around wood cover.
  21. By offshore do you mean saltwater?
  22. I don't know much about them, that's why I was asking haha. I hope someone comes along who knows a bit about them.
  23. Thanks! I went out again this morning and got skunked. The wind had changed and blown all the thin green stuff (you know what I'm talking about) to one of the main sides instead of the corner.
  24. Has anyone tried these baits? The sponge scent release tech looks pretty neat. http://www.stinkyfingersbaitco.com/
