I tie on a 3/4 oz. saltwater egg sinker. I got it for $1 at dicks and I just tie my line to the eye and practice my flipping and pitching. I don't really have to practice regular casting, its easy enough that I can pick my rod up after the few winter months and cast well.
Toss a small lizard to visible cover. Ex. Zoom 4" lizard
Small crank, it will bring the fish out of hiding, and if they don't bite it you can toss them the lizard.
small shaky head: ex. 4-5" worm on an 1/8 oz head.
Inline spinner
ikr. What I find the coolest is that you can reel it slow and fast with a weightless hook without having it roll over. Sick of having to put a 1/4 oz weighted hook on my skinny dip pers and having to reel them fast. I also think the 4.8" hammer shad will be killer as a weightless jerkbait. All those segments.....
I sent power team lures a fan email saying how much I love their lures, and that I couldn't wait for their new swimbait to come out. The reply? Katie says that the swimbait will be out in 6-8 weeks, and that a 7" Finicky Tickler and 4.8" JP Hammer Shad will be out soon as well. I can't wait!
yeah. I just did some research and there appears to be largemouth, some smallmouth, bluegill, crappie, and some channel cats. I'll have to take the canoe out once the weather warms up in february.
When I go on my bi-monthly canoe trip on the susquehanna river I absolutely slaughter them on a 3.5" Power Team Lures Craw D'oeurve. I use a 1/4 oz. Stand-up shaky head.
I have the matching boss intruder punch weights and skirts and the skirt is really, really hard to pull off. There's no way it will come off without you wanting it to.
1/2 oz flipping jig. Heavy enough to punch through some weeds, but light enough to swim. Put a matching grub or a small creature bait such as a baby brush hog on it.
no wonder i couldnt get any bites there. there's hardly any fish left! i had no idea that had happened. hopefully the ecosystem will recover so we can fish it again.
Just don't leave stuff in the sun in hot weather and it won't melt. Another note. Do not mix Elaztech plastics with other brands, they will melt. They also melt easily in the sun.
Check out the mac's tackle RJ jig. It has a normal jig skirt, but it has a screwlock instead of a weedguard. You texas rig the soft plastic. Way better hookups.
