  1. The shimano is going to last a lot longer than the EXO. My friend has a Ci4 and I have used it. Super light and buttery smooth. If you go with the Ci4 hurry up because they are being discontinued very soon. Tackle warehouse has them on sale right now.
  2. I just use an old school backpack. I put two 3700's, two 3600's, and a 3601 (super skinny) in the main pocket, and about 50 bags of soft plastics in the second pocket. I put a drink, bugspray, sunscreen, my gopro, and line in the third pocket, and carry scissors and plier in my shorts. It is heavy (16 pounds) but walking around with it has stengthened my shoulders quite a bit.
  3. I do have a scorecard. Would they take a broken rod for return or would I have to get a replacement?
  4. bought it with cash and no reciept. guess I'll have to take it to DSG and see if they replace it.
  5. Dammit. My almost new Veritas that I got for my birthday back in march just had the tip snapped off on a regular hookset with a frog. I'm careful with my rods and never banged the tip into anything. I didn't buy the warranty and don't have the reciept. Is there anything I can do to get it replaced other than buying a brand new one? I'm 16 and can't afford a new rod. I got it at DSG. Can I fix it? Please help!
  6. Went out for two hours shortly before sunset until after dark, and caught about 20 bass. My little brother tagged along and caught his very first bass all by himself and I was so proud of him. Caught this crazy aggressive pumpkinseed on a tube as well. Not many pics but here is the pumpkinseed and my brother's bass.
  7. Lucky you, fishing with Kyle Meyer. I gotta get me some hudds.
  8. 9" long, 6" around. Tried the weight formula but it gave me 4 ounces, it can't be that small right? I was thinking like 14 or 15 oz. Crazy thing hit a 5" finesse worm.
  9. Hey everyone not trying to get anything sold just helping someone in need out. One of my friends Phil Kane on facebook has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has 3 to 6 months to live. He is trying to sell his boat and truck. He lives in the SoCal area. I don't know details but here is a link to his facebook. https://m.facebook.com/phil.kane.5?ref=m_notif&notif_t=feed_comment_reply&__user=100004892324473 Sorry for the link to another site mods but I feel this is important.
  10. You'll be fine with your baitcaster. I use a 7'6" MH with 17lb fluoro for power shaky heads all the time (pitching) and it works ok. As for the worms, go for something thin like the squirrel tail or trick worm. Senkos are awful on a shaky head because they just sit on their side and have terrible action.
  11. If you want jigs from Northstar now there is no point waiting for a fall sale. They are already cheaper than most jigs on the market and twice the quality. There is quite a wait (3-4 weeks) but it is worth it.
  12. If the marks were right under the pectoral fin, then it was probably a lamprey. They are eel-like creatures with circular mouths that latch onto fish and suck their blood.
  13. that is not going to cast an A-rig very well. You need at least a 7' 6" Heavy action IMHO.
  14. Thanks for the tips guys. I'll have to try this out.
  15. Read on a fishing report that someone was using a circle hook for wacky rigging. Would this work well? I assume you would have to let the fish eat it first. I also worry about them spitting it out when you start pulling. Typically circle hooks are used with live bait. Input?
  16. I peg when pitching soft plastics, punching heavy weeds, and working through wood cover. I never peg in open water. In my experience, pegging in open water gets way less bites from finicky fish.
  17. A 1/2 oz. brush jig for sure. Black/blue or brown/greenpumpkin depnding on water clarity. I go down the bank all day pitching it, and it is fun!
  18. snappers are saltwater fish right? No saltwater in TN.
  19. Dang. That really sucks. I guess I'll have to wait until it grows back to fish there again.
  20. Its just gone........ I tied on a crank and rooted it through the area and it only came up with a few strands every time. There is still some left on the surface but its dark green and slimy. I really hope it will grow back.
  21. Hey everyone, once of the ponds I fish is normally absolutely loaded with hydrilla mats 15-20 feet out from shore. It makes for a killer punching/frogging bite. The past week, we have gotten a lot of rain including two extremely heavy downpours. When I went to the pond yesterday, the hydrilla was all gone! Any ideas? Could the rain have uprooted it and washed it all away? The pond is on a golf course, I hope they didn't use herbicides to make it easier for golfers to get their balls out of the water. Thanks.
  22. Tetanus, AKA "Lockjaw", is a disease that cause full body paralysis and tightens and locks every muscle in your body. Imagine dying a slow death stuck in one position when your whole body feels like your foot does when it falls asleep. Not fun. GET THE SHOT.
  23. Those look neat. Is it more like a chatterbait or a scrounger?
