  1. I've been having awesome luck so far this spring. I've been fishing structure and some of the shallower coves of the lakes I fish. Just have to fish slow!
  2. Caught this fattie late yesterday afternoon on a Zoom Trick Worm on a shakey head. New personal best too! 6lbs. And apologies for the poor quality photo, out by myself and all I had was my phone..
  3. I used to fish almost exclusively from shore unless I went out with my buddy on his canoe. But I just recently bought a small boat and now I pretty much just fish from that. Unfortunately there's not too much shore access around where I live, unless you want to do some driving haha.
  4. Thanks Grampa! That's exactly where I was planning to head. My buddy was out there practicing all the way at the north side of the lake and wasn't hitting too many bass, but hit loads of pickerel a couple he showed me pictures of was massive. So that's some good news, fish are up that side feeding!
  5. You're welcome! And if the weather cooperates (which it's looking like it should), I will be out on Sabbatia on Sunday morning!
  6. Watson Pond is currently closed off, just drove by there this morning. Lake Sabbatia is good, although I haven't fished there yet this year. Lake Rico is a great spot. It's in Massasoit State park in east Taunton. My buddy and I caught a few there this past weekend. There's also Lake Nippenicket in Bridgewater. Right off of the highway. My buddy and I also fished here last weekend and killed them. Water is a little on the cooler side still. Fish slow.
  7. Has anyone been on Lake Sabbatia yet in Taunton? Fishing a tourney there next week, wanted to now if anyone has had any luck there yet this year? Fished Lake Nippenicket in Bridgewater last weekend and absolutely killed them on a jig and shakey heads. Nothing too crazy on size yet, biggest one was about 3lbs, but between me and my buddy we had 12 bass in the boat.
  8. I've been having luck on lipless cranks, jigs, flukes, and in some cases my buddy and I have been using shiners.
  9. Grubs weren't working either. And I don't have any tubes currently - never used them before, so I have no idea how to fish them. I'd like to pick some up and try them though.
  10. Has anyone had any luck over the past couple days? I couldn't get the fish to bite anything - topwater, cranks, spinners, frogs, shads, worms, jig, senkos.. nothing. Gonna try a different spot tomorrow or Tuesday, but I'm not certain..
  11. My buddy and I went fishing Tuesday during some of the remnants of Sandy here in SE Mass, and we pulled out some pretty big fish! A handful of 1-2lb Calicos, a couple 1lb+ White perch, and then I got this bad boy - just about 3 lbs. Anyone else catch anything good lately?
  12. Its a little lake a mile or so from my house. West Meadows. Congrats man! How big was she?
  13. My dad told me I was crazy, but I ended up pulling out 5 bass altogether - all around the same size as the one in the picture. Caught them all on a black Senko!
  14. Usually a jig or jerkbait for me. Today they were KILLING my Zoom Trick Worms though!
  15. If I lived closer I would haha. I've been looking also. I feel your pain man, fishing alone starts to suck after a while..
  16. Good to know! Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the quick responses guys! Much appreciated.
  18. I just bought 15lb SpiderWire braided line, but totally forgot that braided line has a much thinner diameter than mono, which I had been using. My question is whether or not I should just put on this new line or go return it and get the same line with heavier lb test to take advantage of the smaller diameter of the line. My spinning reel is rated for 12-16lb mono and this 15lb braid has the diameter of 4lb mono. Apologies for the dumb question. This is my first time buying new line haha. Thanks in advance!
  19. Hey Dan! Good to see another Mass angler!
  20. Nice! I caught a couple 2 pounders and a decent sized perch yesterday in a new spot I decided to check out. All on a jig. Don't ask how or why the perch went after the jig, because I dont even know. I still dont understand how it got the jig in its mouth haha.
  21. I'll also be fishing all winter. And if it gets cold enough up here for the water to ice over, my buddy and I are planning on trying ice fishing. So either way I'll still be out there!
  22. Unfortunately, I'm available just about 100% of the time because I've been out of a job since I graduated college. I do have my own transportation but with gas being so expensive I try to stay as local as possible
