  1. You can find used citica for cheap. I'd go that route for a backup reel.
  2. For $100 I would hurry up and go for a Shimano Cumara. Once was around $175-200 now on sale big time. It won't last long at TW as they are trying to get rid of the old versions. Everyday I hope on TW and oh so close to clicking "check out".
  3. I like the Shimano Blackmoon. Buddy has it and seems to hold everything he needs when we are fishing the rivers on a long day. Get the Medium size one if size and price does not matter to you. I like how the plano can slide out like that.
  4. Sweet combo there. I am currently saving up for that exact combo but medium heavy.
  5. High compliments for the Senko, I like.
  6. This one has been working great for me but Northerns like them more than Bass
  7. I think the Veritas is cheaper than the Vendetta right now. $70 at Walmart for the Veritas. Vendetta is $80.
  8. Well I just started using baitcaster after years of using spinning. Even after watching videos got a birds nest on my first cast. Thought to myself if I made the right decision. Now a few months in and I don't even want to touch my spinning reel. I still use spinning for wacky worm and small mouth fishing but I use BC for just about anything. Plus the rods for BC are a lot beefier and can handle spinnerbaits and lipless cranks better. Here's one very recommended tip. Watch a video on youtube on how to get out of a birds nest jam. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
  9. This thread is my dream thread. I only have 1 acre. One day....one day. Good luck sir.
  10. Revo winch gen2 159 Lews BB 159 Lews team speed 149 Lews MG 129 Daiwa Lexa 140 All these have lefties and around 5.0:1 gear ratio. I have used the Lews MG and its pretty smooth and feels great to palm. Only threw medium cranks, no deep diving cranks though.
  11. You sure you couldn't find a LH reel in low gears? I'm a lefty too and when searching I didn't have a problem. I ended up with a Daiwa Lexa 4.9:1 for cranks. Can't give reviews because its just sitting on the shelf with season being over up north.
  12. Got an email that said they didn't have green pumpkin with flakes anymore and if I want to substitute. Sucks but I guess I need more junebug anyways.
  13. I have two veritas and have put a promax on it with no problems. Just picked up a Lexa and a T3 Ballistic and these reel screwed on no problem. The Ballistic came with tabs but I didn't need to use it. As for the power yes it does feel stiffer than a Buddies MH Shimano Clarius. However I don't have a problem with it being a bit stiffer. It's a light rod and pretty sensitive for under $100. $70 at Wal Mart.
  14. Yeah the 40% is over. Howeve even at 5.99 it's a dollar off! This will be my second most favorite site behind *** now.
  15. I have seen people with 1999-2002 Toyota 4runners V6 tow bass boats of 17-18 feet. As long as there are no steep hills on the way you should be fine I think. I can't say for sure though but I'm sure some people here will know more.
  16. A rooster tail and a pike/pickerel is the worse combo ever if you have no pliers lol.
  17. I'm looking at a 7'6" HF for flipping and pitching and also maybe a spinning one for wacky/river setup. The only reason why I would want to try these out is I can get this guys last two rods he's got for the price of a veritas online. I'm pretty happy with the verita but if I can get a $159 rod for $70 and it works as good as it's retail price then for sure I'm getting it. I almost bought his Daiwa Ballistic rod but from the reviews everyone said it's heavy and not the best, even him as he recommend the Cielo to me.
  18. I for one doesn't have a problem with him keeping his catch of his life so far. Not many people will have multiple taxidermy fish anyways and if they do it'll be only 2-4. It's the people that poach and exceeds their limit that puts a hit in bass population. It's his right to keep that fish under the regulations. I have hope none of you guys posting don't hunt or know people that hunts. A male buck is consider a trophy but it seems a fish gets more protected by the public.
  19. Never thought I would buy so much Senko's in one outing until now!!!
  20. Picked up a Daiwa Lexa reel at a steal price. The guy I bought it from also have 2 more Daiwa Cielo rods for sale. I was wondering if anyone had tried these rods out. The problem is I'm buying things I can't really test out until next spring with living up north. Right now I can find so many sweet deals for locals. So I am going by review and collecting my gears for the spring. So far reviews on the Lexa has been great. Not much reviews on the Cielo's though since they are relatively new. Looks nice but I just wish that cork wasn't there. Seems to look like it's unfinished with just one cork grip.
  21. I plan to buy a dog leash for it. Saw Kevin Shorts video. Clever. Just want to see what type people have success with.
  22. From what I've seen there's three types of crankbait lure retrievers. One is the one with chains, one with two big loops, and one locks to your swivel. What have you guys use/seen and have success with. On the boat I'm ok but I love river fishing and I've lost 10 Crankbaits already this summer. Wish I would have knew of this devise sooner.
  23. They do look nice. I have to get some in my arsenal next spring.
  24. Yeah I just list on an eBay listing. Winning bid was only $115 for lefty TP. Was at work and using my smart phone then right at last second my phone froze and I couldn't bid higher. Next time.
  25. The Recon is so pretty. I hope you like it. That would mate up really nice to the newer Symetre that I plan to get. Please get back to us on your review.
