  1. You know what how about everyone just stop posting and let WBR/Tom have the stage. His post are clear cut the best You have a lot of knowledge on giant bass. Keep them coming!
  2. I am in your position as a coangler but I have to bring at least 5 setups. - spinning 7' M for drop shot - 7' M for senko/flukes - 7' M for Cranks - 7'3 H for jigs - 7'3 H for frogs For later in season I need this setup also - 7'6 H for Punching/flip/pitch
  3. That would look killer on my Gloomis GL2 cranking rod!
  4. Black and yellow frog is my favorite. My buddy caught back to back 5 pounders and decided to take the frog home with him SMH.
  5. September up North is a great time to use spinner baits with the cooler water. However last year I too didn't do well on spinner baits. I have been throwing more swim jigs and loving it.
  6. All of a sudden it's Sahara vs PQ spinning reel? Well I like Pepsi over Coke.
  7. Last year during the bassmaster classic TW had 25% off Shimano and Gloomis. So cross your fingers it'll be the same. They also had a selective items at 25% off too but none of them interest me.
  8. I am still puzzled by this weird sale from TW. Some people said its to match BTDs sale but usually they only match if you call. TW is usually consistent on dates when they have sales. This two day sale just doesn't seem normal. I have times my purchases for their bassmaster classic sale and this one caught me off guard. Not that I'm complaining about great sales though
  9. Too bad this sale was before I got my tax refund otherwise I would have gone mad. So I only got one Chronarch ci4. Couldn't sleep all night because I wanted to hop on that site again to add two more ci4. Sale ended though so going to wait for bassmaster classic sale.
  10. Yeah it'll be interesting to see if the hooks get corroded since I won't be able to use them until March. I only dipped one feathered treble hook so that one will be my test dummy.
  11. Love Tonka. One bay could be calm like you describe and the next bay could be like Lake Superior. I fished a tournament once and the storm hit only half of the massive lake. Guys that were up by North arm said it was sunny and they saw some pretty rainbows. Guys in the south bays got poured on. We were in the main lake and got hammered by huge waves in our little 17 foot aluminum bass boat. There was a time that I felt scared for my life as I felt we could get swallowed up Tonka. We fled to Greys bay where the wind got blocked off. If your in MN you owe it to yourself to fish Tonka even if it's a far drive.
  12. Yeah I have already found a source on eBay that sells the inline spinners I'm looking for that has white n red feathers. It's $1 more a piece but still well below retail so I'm just going to take that plunge and buy a bunch and be set for a long time. Thanks everyone for the tip. If anyone has more suggestions feel free to add them because I still have a bunch of brown/black feathered spinners that I would like to dye a bright color.
  13. I tried bleach but it didn't do anything. Maybe I'm not using the right bleach?
  14. 51E.....adding the 1 means I don't have to switch hands.
  15. Hummm really? That sucks.
  16. I just bought 30 inline spinners for smallmouth fishing. These are the best inline spinners I've used. They seemed to be on clearance and even the manufacturer site doesn't list them so they may be discontinued. I'm thinking of picking up even more and be set for life . Problem is all of them have black feathers on the treble hook. White with a splash of red is usually my go to color for feathers. They don't have anymore whites in stock. So is there any dyes that people use for this? Also would I dip the whole treble hook in as I don't ever want to untie and retie, if it's even possible. Any suggestions would be great. I tried to do a search and nothing came up. Even searches google.
  17. I think during the bassmaster classic things will get interesting. Curado's will be available, TW usually has a sale, and hopefully Chronarch E's go on clearance. 4 more weeks!
  18. All I want to know is.... Does your wife have a sister? I would like to be his brother in law too.
  19. Stuck at the mall and the wife is in the shoe store. Too bad there's no Cabelas. Thank goodness for my phone and bassresource haha.

  21. I think I know what you're trying to describe. I think when casting your lure, since it is 6" away from the main line, is going to get all tangled with the line that has the weight.
  22. IMO that's a 6lber at best.
  23. Yes I've always have used straight 50lb braid. Natural northern lakes we don't really have to worry about rocks and timber. The only reason I'm asking is this year I have two setups for weightlessflukes/senkos. I'll be using it with 20lb yellow PP and 12-15 fluro leader so I can watch my lines. Other than senkos I really don't even use leaders.
  24. Thanks. Just one other question. If your using 50lb braid for heavy cover and run a 20lb leader wouldn't that just Jeopadise the strength of why you're using 50lb braids anyways? Or are you trying to match diameters rather than strength? Sorry to hijack the thread but my last question.
  25. I guess auto correct got me there unless your name is brad lol.
