  1. There is the Ozark"Hover" rig that is suppose to glide. Might be the next best thing at the moment..
  2. Those thing actually work. People made fun of them because of the cheesy infomercial . I still have some and have one rigged and ready for my next trip because of your post. I even have the two spinnerbaits that came with the kit but never caught anything with it.
  3. Fish cover. Get lures in there and fish it thoroughly. There are lures that work well in it. Make good ,quiet presentations. Pitching , underhand roll cast...You might have to use a different weight lure to make those cast.
  4. Save some money, use mono, change it often.
  5. 100 percent of you will disagree with me. I used chatterbaits a lot this past year , tried several trailers. I kept losing fish. about 50 percent. Quit using trailers and landed almost 100 per cent. I dont use trailers at all now. They work without them and no hunk of plastic to interfere with hookups.
  6. I have several I dont use. Probably never will. I also have the Mepps minnow spinnerbait. Dont use them either . If you want them I'll ship then to you.
  7. Sometimes there will be bass on the bottom under the shad waiting for injured fish to sink. I have caught a lot of bass by letting a lipless, plastic worm or whatever I have rigged up sink through the school to the bottom . Might have a big old catfish hammer the lure , which is always a fun time.
  8. Now , I wear my retirement watch.
  9. If I did know I guarantee I would set the hook to soon and miss almost everyone of them.
  10. I throw them a lot and only use a trailer if I want a little extra weight, then I'll use half a dinger. Cant remember the last time I used a trailer hook. I have my favorite color skirts and blades but everybody has different favorites . I'll use bright some days and dull others. Black at night.
  11. I texas rig all soft plastics, They all catch fish. I'll even Texas rig a Ned with a 5/16th oz weight on casting gear and flip it in bushes, did so yesterday.
  12. Never seen that flick. Is it pretty good?
  13. Might be the most consistent cover I ever fished. That and culverts.
  14. I fish alone mainly because none of my friends are into bass fishing. They fish a few hours with their zebco 33's and become bored by not catching fish.
  15. I dont have a favorite brand. Rarely use a trailer. The willow/Colorado combo gets thrown most. Havent lost one in years. Like everyone else says and stressed in Glenns video, casting is the key.
  16. I'm guessing a combination of the hook being buried in the plastic and not enough backbone in the rod.
  17. If snags are not a problem, hop a Red Eye Shad like a worm on classic structure like points.
  18. They last a lot longer when a person doesnt catch fish. 😀
  19. My markers tied to branches disappeared. One of them I didnt need but the other I did not relocate the brush-pile. I'll find a different way to mark them. They were not large and flashy and most anglers would not see then but evidently someone took notice.
  20. I once put a small Johnson Silver Minnow inside a tube and skipped it under boat docks. Didnt catch a fish but it skipped great.
  21. I make my own skirted weights with a spinnerbait mold .I Dont insert a hook , instead a piece of wire that can be pulled out.
  22. Not for RW I wouldnt know about babycrap yellow tubes.
  23. On a baitcaster I simply put a pencil through the spool and hold it with my knees. Thats all . A spinning reel , just lay the spool flat on the table, label up is usually correct.. Spinning reels are a little more complicated because if the spool is upside down it will twist badly. I always walk spinning reels off in the grass after I finish filling it. They twist even if done correctly.
  24. I never had much luck with crankbaits in ponds because diving baits dont follow the contour from deep to shallow well . A lipless bait will but they will snag frequently. But all lures work , they all have their place. My favorite pond lures have been top waters , beetle spins, spinnerbaits and plastic worms. When I first tarted bass fishing in ponds the Storm Thin Fin caught a lot of bass.
  25. If they are bass sometimes they can be caught by fishing on the bottom if its not to deep. Injured shad sink and bass will wait for them. Texas rigged worms, Strike King Red Eye Shas and Rapala Fat Raps have worked for me in the past.
