  1. I experimented with cahatterbaits this year using them with and without trailers. I saw no difference in bites and think I had a better landing percentage without.
  2. One of the youtubers states that a bait with trailer gets sucked in easier.
  3. Seldom. I'll add half a stick worm for a little extra weight If needed.
  4. Angler number two is my uncle Steve.
  5. One of my favorite standing timber cranks is the Rapala Fat Rap. Its not a square bill but doesnt dive deep either, around 4 foot. No rattles. I dont know if the gold foil is still available but its been a steady producer over the decades fishing wood.
  6. I have never used a rod over 100 dollars. My worm/jig rod right now is a seven foot Okuma Inshore rod , heavy action. I like the way it feels and fishes. I have three more in medium heavy action. I hold the line between my index finger and thumb WRB style.
  7. Exactly. My casting rods all have a fore grip which are getting hard to find.
  8. I havent been keeping score but I think purple wins.
  9. I've been carrying since grade school. Had lots of stockmans that cleaned a lot of rabbits, lost them often . Now I carry a Swiss Army knife in my left pocket and a Swiss Tech one hand knife in my right pocket . This Swiss Tech Wurdig is 30 dollars , a great user and fishing knife.. I bought a second one just in case I lose it and are no they longer available.
  10. I havent fished one in years either. I experimented with them a lot way back when . They just were not producing in the waters I fished. I do remember having a good day with them fishing a mud line created by boat wakes on a point .
  11. I dont remember catching one on a sluggo . There use to be a pork sluggo .It may have been called a Pork-O. I dont think I caught any on it either.
  12. Purples of all kinds. I also have a lot of success with bright green worms. They are hard to find but when I do find a pack the disappear fast. Something about the color of a Mountain Dew bottle.
  13. Bounce them off the bottom.
  14. I use texas rigs extensively.
  15. Its consuming, fishing a lot of unproductive water.
  16. How to pick up a ten pin.
  17. Texas rigged worm was by far the most productive technique this past year. Chatterbaits around scum worked well. Neds and tubes on rip rap were consistent. The little known "Bomber Prop A" did well in the spring, again.
  18. I like all three sizes of the Red eye shad. The 3/4 for about 20 foot. the 1/2 for 10 to 20 foot and the little one shallower. I've had some very exciting days throwing the little one on flats and catching a mixture of whites, blue cats, channels, drum and walleye. I'm talking 100 fish days. Those channels will absolutely smash it.
  19. Excluding this past season , a lot of my largest bass the last several years have been caught working a red eye shad like a worm on points 10 to 20 foot deep.
  20. I rarely throw a Carolina rig anymore. At one time I used it to cover deep water quickly by using a 3/4 oz weight. I worked my way around big flats and points searching for strikes. I have all but abandoned that style.
  21. Mike Tyson should fight Rosie Perez next.
  22. I havent been hooking more but have not landed any.Caught one five lber early on, a bunch of fours and several big ones that came off.
  23. I didnt have access to ponds , fished the Mississippi and some back waters a lot. Rode my bike to these places and fished mainly with crappie jigs. Caught white bass and crappie mostly but would get the occasional largemouth, smallmouth or walleye. My rod n reels were horrid , didnt cast very far so did a lot of diddling around rip rap , bridges and whatever brush I could find.
  24. Theres a decent point on the east , between the two coves, that I would check out every time. Also those two coves should hold a lot of spawning bass in the spring. Coves that lead to points have been good to me in all phases of the spawn.
  25. Dont get locked into doing something because that is the way its suppose to be done. Br open minded.
