  1. I had a 6 fish limit 24 lb bag in the spring and posted the three largest in the latest pics thread. The first such bag I had in some time . Had a nice pattern going, targeting wood in spawning coves with a spinnerbait.
  2. I have significant arthritis in my right ankle and wear a brace almost 100 percent of the time. I cant spend to long fishing like this or wont be able to walk later. The rocks were slick and almost went down twice. Hope you get to go before the weather turns. It was beautiful today.
  3. Did some small stream fishing today. Caught about 8 with this being the largest . Caught them on cheap Wal Mart swimbaits. Rigged on a Scrounger , Beetle Spin and ball head jig . The one pictured with the ball head jig.
  4. Used lots of black lizards. They work well.
  5. If fish are just not committing to a lure , follows , short strikes... a color change has solved the problem a few times.
  6. I prefer the grinder events too . Shootouts to me are as boring as watching a Vin Diesel movie.
  7. Its a point .
  8. My hand was not big enough. I've been taking a net since , a big one.
  9. I have parasite clips , they work keeping the worm in place but the sinker doesnt lay flush with the worm . They cause line twist for me.
  10. Yep, those would work . They are not available here. So I use what is handy.
  11. Just have to finagle it.
  12. You mean the stop?
  13. Matt Steffen has a Youtube video on bobber stop uses. One of his hacks was to put it on a worm hook . My last two outings I have been using a Gamy 3.0 with the bobber stop on the bend . It has worked splendidly . Not one time has the worm balled up on the shank . My hook up ratio has never been better. Next year I might be using something else but for the time being this is the bomb. One hint . Put the stops on at home. Its a little tricky to get them through the hole.
  14. The jig is most snag resistant and I like to fish snags . Spinnerbaits do well in snags too. Chatterbaits not so much . So I pick according to what I'm targeting.
  15. I dont use black much. When I first got seriously into bass fishing a black spinnerbait was my most productive lure for awhile.
  16. I have two vintage 1310's. I still use them on old 7'6"heavy flipping sticks for catfish and carp.
  17. Man, I bet a person could really launch that thing.
  18. I always look for hooks or lures . I pulled worms and hooks out of their anus . Last week I was able to free a bass of a crappie jig that was in there pretty deep.
  19. Worm , top water , and spinnerbait works well at night. I also have had good luck with cranks but a lot of people are leery of treble hooked lures in the dark.
  20. I went twice this week because of cooler temps , bright skies , north wind. Pitching Dingers into wood and slaying numbers but not size . Caught a four lber yesterday , my largest . The front of the jon boat was littered with torn up Dingers. Went through at least fifty in two trips.
  21. The diamond file on a Leatherman.
  22. I'm going to catch fish in the same places with the same lures as I do in the summer and spring . Now late fall/early winter I may have to change tactics . I still fish in the same places , they just bite differently. Jerkbaits around wood and blade baits on points will sometimes get bit when I have trouble getting bass to strike.
  23. I dont go if its over 90 or if its to windy . The boats I fish out of do not handle strong winds. I dont handle high heat . Today is suppose to get up to 82 with 3 to 5 mph winds. I'm going fishing.
  24. Looking at peoples finish from our group. They are listing Chris Johnston in first place and Patrick Walters in second. Bassaholic bell has Walters and was rewarded 295 points and those who picked Johnston were rewarded with 300 points. I'm sure they will correct that.
  25. Who loaned Welcher a boat?
