I'll take Summer sausage , cheese and crackers a lot. Other times a sandwhich of some sort.

I always have a Texas rig handy. So i just grab it. Probably not the best follow up bait but i'm not dedicating one of my combos just with a follow up bait.

Bank fishing , I carry the bare minimum. I carry one rod and reel , so I'll take lures that match the combo. Cant catch fish if you have lures that wont cast well with the equipment used. Maybe a top water, spinnerbait , jig heads,a few hooks weights and soft plastics is all i usually need. Those choices can change depending on the chracteristics of the water.

The best advice I can give is learn to roll cast accurately and silently. I caught a lot more fish when I got serious about casting .

Blakemore CC spinner. Its no longer available but any pourer can make one. They were made for waking. Big old number 7 colorado blade , black skirt , muddy water it catches them.

Crankbait on steep, rocky , sunny banks is a good way to catch a lunker. A long time ago I favored an Arbogast Mudbg in a crawfish color.I dont have a good one any more. Today I would opt for a Wiggle Wart or Rock Crawler.

I am baffled by these lures not being more popular. I work the Bomber Prop A a lot of different ways and it produces every spring. Post spawn seems to be the very best time for me. I lose a lot of fish too. You cant horse them in , or set the hook to soon. Thats the hard part for me. Letting the fish take it for a second is difficult. Cant help it though , reflexes. I'm like that with all top waters.

I kind of do both. I dont have forward facing sonar but will scan and fish points, humps... . As far as going down the bank and casting , I do that a lot . Its not blind casting. I'm attempting to make every cast count.

I've lost a lot of big bass on the Bomber Long A version, caught a lot too. Thats my luck with all top water lures.

Theres not a lot of rock where I fish except I do fish a lot of rip rap. Theres not a lot of sharp edges on riprap.

No leader , just straight braid. 15 lb for finesse applications.

I have used the back half of torn up lizards as jig trailers many times.

I like lizards a lot. They work spring, summer and fall , from shallow pitching to deep points, in purples and electric grape .

Pre spawn a spinnerbait with magnum willows are effective. Its also when I start twitching a bomber Prop A which is a Long a Minnow with a tail prop. Its dynamite and being I'm about the only person who has some , the bass dont see them .

I dont get to fish for spots often. A couple of years back, I lucked into them when they were bedding. Dark brown tubes were getting a lot of results.

I wont argue with your choices. Glad to see you highlight Bomber Model A's . One of my favorites for many decades. Along with the Rebel Deep Wee R and the Rapala Fat Rap.

Someone mentioned on the Matt Herren thread that another angler was being investigated and possibly disqualified for the Okeechobee event . Then Scott self reports himself a day before the event on a conversation that happened a few weeks back. I think theres more to the story.

Remember Real Claw. It was crawfish oil and oil based scents reportedly dont work. Anyhow, I was fishing a worm doused with Real Claw around 20 foot deep . I detected a bite and slowly reeled a keeper bass to the surface, then set the hook. Dont know if the scent played a part in the bass refusing to let go or not.
