  1. Do yourself a favor and go to Palatka. My second advise is to contact Preston Clark at prestonclark.com and not only will you have the best guide on the river, but maybe the best in Florida and one of the niceist guys anywhere....John
  2. I know I have seen a system to calculate the weight of a bass on here. Can someone lead me to it?? Thank you
  3. I fish about 5 but my boat never leaves the water. I live on the Harris chain and and I motor to all 5 of them. Not too often though
  4. Up north it was always a prime time to catch fish 4 me, but I have been on the lake all day today in the rain and never did get that furry little skunk out of my boat. Florida has sure been a humbling experience for me. I will never stop work at it, but once in awhile I would like to do some catching LOL
  5. I know the ones I am fishing for are wayyy waaaaay too SMART ;D
  6. Welcome back JT...looking forward to your remarks CPR ;D
  7. I once guided a lady who reached for a smallie with her left hand and buried a hook in it. as she reached for the fish with the other hand, she buried one in it. She had the back hook of a Rogue in the left palm and the middle hook in the right palm. I got the fish off and took her to the hospital and all the way there I thought she was praying..The doc could barly get the hands apart far enough to get to the hooks. She got them removed and gave up fishing. CPR ;D
  8. OK Charlie....Let's give those C.A.S.T kids "Moore" for Christmas....Step up and we will call you ?Santa Moore" Get off your reindeer and make these kid"s holidays a little brighter. Char-ley Char-ley San-ta CPR ;D
  9. I moved to central Florida this past year and that has really hurt my fishing. I guided in Mo for the past 25 years so catching fish was not a problem. Everything is different here. LM here, SM there...lake here...river there...plastic here,,,SB & Rogues there...Help!!! I need a mentor. I have started catching fish on Trigs and Crigs so that is my goal for next year..Also I am going to learn to "catch" with live shiners. I know that is a bad word, but it seems to be the bait for 10+ fish down here CPR ;D
  10. Glenn....Congratulations!!!! I for 1 really missed this site...I know I need to get a life, but this has become my favorite site on the web. I know you ran into more problems than you had anticipated, I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I and I would bet some of the other gays and gals do. I just hope I can figure out how to change this font size cause the wife said she won;t read all these messages to me LOL Thanks again for all the work, just remember what a great service you are doing for all the ol'timers like me who only have time to read message boards and fish LOL CPR ;D
  11. Wild shiners
  12. Seems like pretty clear water...LIVE BAIT at NIGHT,,,try it CPR ;D
  13. I fish alone now, but I don't like it. I guided for 25 years and when i wasn't guiding I fished with other guides(friends). When I retired to Florida I thought I would enjou being alone, but it is not what I thought it would be. The fact that I can't catch fish here has something to do with it. :-[ I thought living on the water in a retirement community I could find someone to fish with, but of you indicate you are going out longer than 2 hours at a time they don.t want to fish. Oh well, my bowling is getting better LOL CPR
  14. Still good advise whether Feb or Oct thanks again, and everyday I am still learning about Florida grass(the kind you fish in of course) CPR ;D
  15. I was wondering if you would have a opinion on that article considering the Tennessee was not there. As far as numbers, I had a guide service on a Missouri river that with certain fishermen and on certain days we would guarantee 100 bass or you don't pay and I never guided for free. We never caught huge bass but 3 1/2 to 4 lb SM were common. I don't know where they got their info from but, whenever you are rating something like that, it is pretty subjective. CPR ;D
