I am new to this region and just got back into fishing. I am having one heck of a time trying to catch smallmouth bass. I like fishing the Allegheny River because its close and easy to get to. I also know there are plenty of fish in that river, but I cant catch'em. I get a few nibbles on the tubes I just recently learned about, but the fish just don't want to hit it hard enough to even try to set the hook. The River is new to me and I will keep the boat moving. Could I be moving too fast? If so is there any way to slow it down without standing on the trolling motor or dragging an ancor which I don't want to do?
Right now this past two weeks I can see what seems like millions minnows around the boat launch. Thats got to be some kind of sign but what should it be telling me? Often times i can see fish following my bait right up to thr boat. How do I get them to take it?
I am gust looking for a little guidence if anyone can help.
Thank You
