  1. I have one mounted on a 6'10" Legend Glass running 10lb Samurai Fluoro to throw smaller moving baits. It's just a dream and fun to fish with, it actually puts a smile on my face. I comment to my Wife all the time that my equipment is for me and my enjoyment only, no one has any idea when I'm out just how cool my gear is. They don't know how awesome the Evergreen Rod I'm using performs or how well the souped up Metanium Shallow throws baits with amazing ease and accuracy. BUT, while using my Millionaire and Legend Glass the other day my Bud says, "that has to be the coolest looking setup I've ever seen, Old School with the best modern amenities". Helped that I was crushing them on a 1/4oz Lipless over grass. Brian.
  2. When I throw my jig and it bounces off the water surface I quit. Brian.
  3. By the time I said "hey don't lift" the rod snapped. Classic high stick, holding the rod almost straight up and lifting. Made an awesome sound. Brian.
  4. Ya, maybe should have had you lip him. 4lb. Smallies don't boat flip well if you don't do it correctly. One St. Croix down. Brian. P.S. That's not ME, I'm the photo taker.
  5. Best thing to do is call Roland Martin Marina and one of the nice Ladies at the desk will take your reservation. Problem solved. Brian.
  6. I use the term Paddle Tail for the soft plastic bait (Kitech, etc) and Swimbait for the hard bait (Triple Trout, etc.). Brian.
  7. Amen. I quit fishing it 6-8 years ago for Smallies. Just always seemed like a waste of time. Brian.
  8. Stopped for about 7-8 years, life got in the way. Brian.
  9. Same here. If I ain't fishing I'm planning on going fishing. I'm sitting in front of the TV right now watching football, cleaning, waxing and checking guides on rods.......OCD? Brian.
  10. I paid $113 for my Tat 80 from Japan. Brian.
  11. You are correct. I dug an old box out and it's 77cm. My bad, Brian.
  12. What was the rod originally purchased for, technique? Brian.
  13. I have 3 Money Makers and 2 Hammers. I would rate them on the heavy side of MH. They are perfect for my use in FL., a bit heavy for my use in PA. Obviously the bass in FL are bigger than my PA bass and the cover(grass) is more in FL. On the Big O the reels are filled with 50lb Braid, off the lake, the spools get swapped out to 14lb Fluoro and 15lb copoly. After 30+ years of fishing Florida 2 months a year these are the best setups I've put together and have zero reasons to change. Brian. The 2 Lancer Pro Hvy/Fast are spooled with 65lb Braid and that never changes.
  14. Amen. I feel exactly the same. Brian.
  15. Get the Scorpion and a 7'2" Zodias MH/Fast, you'll be happy. Brian.
  16. I can't speak highly enough about the Lancer Pro's. I purchased 2 of the Hvy/Fast for frogs/pitching/flipping in Florida. The reason was, if I grenade a rod in the thick and it cost $300-400 I'm upset, if it was $79 who cares. Turns out they're fantastic, powerful, sensitive, tough etc.. My Bud used one pitching for the day and ordered 2 for himself when we got back to our Hotel that night, think they were BOGO. I also purchased a mh/fast spinning rod and I honestly will put it up against any $250 rod. When you can feel concrete pipe with a 1/8oz. LEAD jig head that's saying something. Brian.
  17. PA Baby, where the best Bass fisherman in the world can muster a 3 day total of 12-15 in the Classic. Way to represent Pennsylvania. Brian. P.S.; It hasn't improved.
  18. Yes, I switch spools back and forth between mine. Brian.
  19. PayPal's exchange rate is usually higher so you'll pay a bit more but it is a little extra protection. Brian.
  20. We have a Winner!!! I have a 3700 Spinnerbait Box loaded with these for the Susky. The only color I would add is Watermelon Seed. The profile and weight of the Screaming Eagle helps keep it down in the current and helps it from blowing out while burning it. Brian.
  21. I bang Squarebills off it. It actually got me a 15lb bag yesterday afternoon in PA. Started with orange/brown back and after 15 minutes with no bites, changed to yellow/black back, that did the trick. Picked a few more up with a bluegill bladed Jig ticking it off the rocks. I disdain throwing Jigs on Rip Rap, can't stand the constantly getting hung no matter what Jigs I throw. Brian.
  22. I have one still in the plastic just in case something happens to the one I use. Brian.
  23. Aluminum frame and handle side plate, double supported pinion, 7+:1 ratio. Brian.
