  1. Anti reverse bearing in backwards? Brian.
  2. Got 2 setups exactly like that. While the green is not a perfect match, they are quite pleasing to the eye. They fish extremely well also. Brian.
  3. Curado/Scorpion 70. Brian.
  4. If it takes a while to happen, fatigue is setting in and you're starting to use your shoulder to cast more than the rod, especially trying to bomb casts. Brian.
  5. Check Hedgehog Studio's Japan. Brian.
  6. It can be a bear, but there's good fish in it. It will pay great dividends if you have a graph, there's some good drop offs, humps, stump fields, and channels. Crazy thing, we caught some Smallies there this Spring. Brian.
  7. They had a small quant. that didn't have enough glue holding the top and bottom of the thumb bar together so they were coming apart. Brian.
  8. Curado K HG, 60+lb. Grass Carp and believe me, I didn't spare the whip. Brian.
  9. On one of my Scorpion 70's I was having this issue of line stacking on the left hand side of the spool. I disassembled the reel and discovered the line guide was hanging up on the levelwind worm gear at the turn over from left to right. It would just hesitate there for a split second before starting it's return back to the right. I called Shimano and they sent me a new pawl and worm gear, problem solved. My K impresses me more and more every time I use it. Smooth, powerful, long casting and just feels solid. Matter of fact, I just might need another one. Brian.
  10. Beat me to it. Brian.
  11. 1/4 oz. Spinnerbait, just chuck and reel, keeps them interested with constantly doing something. My Girls could not tolerate sitting and waiting for something to happen. But put on a Spinnerbait and let them cast and reel, they would fish for hours. Also a single hook bait, hate to see Kids with treble hooks to deal with. Brian.
  12. Tie directly to the split ring. Traps are a very versatile bait, they'll produce from 90 degree water to hard water, great search bait. Brian.
  13. Don't know when it was introduced, but for the last month I've been using Trik Fish Xrated on my bank rod. It's a copoly, 15lb. test at .013". It has some memory but disappears after a few casts, low stretch, a tad stiff, casts very well, great abrasion resistance, the sensitivity is very good(can feel Gilly pecks on slack line), the strength is extremely good and it's very reasonably priced. The only thing I can fault with it is it doesn't come in clear. Brian.
  14. Steve Daniel or Tom Mann Jr., both out of Clewiston and can't go wrong with either. Brian.
  15. I guess WAY short was a bit dramatic, but it was 15 feet +-. But it was enough that I couldn't get to the meat of the tree. I remedied it with a 1/16oz. tungsten bullet and got right back to catching. It's a great spot and a good place to teach guys to fish worms, you know you'll get bit. And yes, it's a Spinning setup, Shimano Cumara 7'6" Med./Ext Fast, Shimano Complex CI4 2500HGS F6. Brian.
  16. My Bud buys 4"x4" heavy Mil Ziploc bags off ebay, puts 2 baits in each bag and just shoves them in his pack. Works well. Brian.
  17. Was bank fishing this morn. and was fishing a downed tree way out there. Ya can't get closer to the tree due to the fact it's on posted property. I was using 14lb. Sonic Braid w/a 7' 10lb. Abrazx leader. Well I was raking them pretty good because this tree doesn't get fished much due to length of cast you have to make, it's out there. I got a wind knot about 3 feet up from my FG knot and trying to get it out, I broke my line. So, waters dingy from all this rain, I'll just tie directly to my braid. After this I couldn't reach the tree anymore with a 4" weightless Senko, I was coming up WAY short, I would have to feather my cast with the leader on so I wouldn't hit the bank. I would have never believed the weight of that 7' piece of Flouro leader would make such a dramatic difference. There are 3 small ziplock bags with 10' of leader material in my walkbox now. Brian.
  18. I have these Bandit Crankbaits, would have sworn they were 300's. Went to Bandits site and they're not listed. They are a shallow runner at 2.5" in length, Bandit site lists all cranks at 2". Anyone know what model these are. Thanks all, Brian.
  19. I've never fished for Carp either. Brian.
  20. Big Bear org. 6'6" MH, Curado K HG, Trik Fish 15lb. X-Rated Copoly, 5" Bluegill Yum Dinger w/a 1/0 Gamakatsu 1/8oz. wacky head. Not quite sure of the exact weight, it instantly bottomed a Rapala 50lb. digital and my tape wasn't anywhere near long enough. Anyone care to give a guesstimate on weight? I'm 6'2. 260lbs. It was a BLAST!!!!! Brian.
  21. We catch them on Traps and Spinnerbaits. My one Bud uses Berkley Trout Worms(3") in Bubblegum on a split shot or Mojo Rig, uses this mainly sight fishing. Brian.
  22. I fish alone 99% of the time. I despise weekend fishing and the bud I fish with works long hours. I actually enjoy the solitude of fishing alone, but I have a Grandson waiting to share the bank and boat with Pop-Pop. Brian.
  23. Backroom Baits 3.75" Swimbait in Green Pumpkin purple/copper. Fast, slow, high, low, hot, cold, you can find a presentation that will slay river Smallies. Brian.
  24. Shimano Scorpion 70XG, Shimano Cumara HM-1 6'8" Med./Ext. Fast, McCoy Fluoro 8lb., also works well with tubes, grubs, finesse jigs, MOJO Rigs etc.. Brian.
