  1. Salt St. Croix Avid Surf $300 Shimano Sustain 6000FG $379 $679... Freshwater Dobyns Champ 684CB $219 Shimano Chronarch $200 $419... My drop shot would beat it Cumara/Stradic Ci4 but the rod was a gift which my brother only paid $120 for it.
  2. Hey guys, I'm picking up a 7' MH mojo inshore rod tomorrow for throwing lighter tackle for Striped Bass. Hogy's and Slugos etc. I need a 4000 size reel and don't want to spend a lot. Was thinking about giving the Penn battle a second chance but idk. Don't even really want to spend that much. Lol Christmas time I'll prob pick up up another Sustain. Just hit for cash right now. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  3. Went surf fishing last night and went to adjust drag. Doesn't click anymore Smfh. Worked fine last time I was out. I took spool off and piece seems like it isn't sitting in the correct place anymore. Idk just ticked that 350+ reel can work one minute then not the next. Called Cabelas they said bring it in they'll swap it. Not even gonna bother attempting to fix it or send it in. Did end up catching a 3 ft sand shark tho lol
  4. With all that's going on right now across the forums as much as I wanna say 13!!!! I have to still run with my Dobyns champ 684cb.
  5. Awesome news! ... @rochchalk watched some I cast vids today. lol looks like e21 has been bought out. Carrot sticks coming out under a new brand.
  6. Chronarch is avail for Pre order and ships 7/24 on tackle warehouse!
  7. I pray 13 doesn't turn into E21 I love the rods too much. I, no B.S., Must've caught 200 bass on my 6'7 m/f this year between local pond, practice, and tourneys. Not to mention a couple snags here and there when I really yank on it hard. Knock on wood, I've only busted 1 rod in my life from abuse and it was a ugly stick I used for snagging bunker. Hope everything works out bro!
  8. I have both same length and action however the premier is a spinning rod and *** casting. Imo the blank is much more sensitive. Better guides and reel seat. *** is prob equivalent to mist $250 rods.
  9. Can't vouch for fluoro with jigs but I use both invizX and abrazx. Live them both for the different applications I'm using. I will say if your worried about abrasion lol buy the abrazx. I use abrazx for cranking and invizX for drop shot, weight less plastics, swimbaits and flukes.
  10. I originally picked up a *** 6'7 m/f for jerkbaits which I only really fish Pre spawn. Ended up giving it a go for flukes and is now 1 of my favorite rods hands down. Best $100 I ever spent on something fishing related. If someone came to me today and bought all my rods off me I'd seriously consider buying 10 of them to cover all techniques.
  11. Thanks for input. I'm 5'11 I can see how height can make a difference. I didn't think about a 50 size reel. That's something to consider picking up. I would also like to point out with the previous setup I had all brakes off and tension fairly loose. I wasn't getting birds nests but thumbing the spool I think was affecting my accuracy, definitely affected my confidence. That video I referenced he stated setting the reel as I would normally cast. So with this particular bait 1/4 oz jig and trailer I popped 4 tabs and tensioned for slow fall. Accuracy went way up and feel confident with each throw. I also am righty using left hand reels so I don't switch hands either. I also can't pendulum pitch yet, I have to grab the bait and kind of launch it from my hand. Do you feel a difference in pitching with fluoro compared to other lines? Any advantages? I personally don't like fishing with braid. But that's just me.
  12. If this is in the wrong forum I apologize!!! .... So this was my first year flipping and pitching with a bait caster. I've been using a 7'10 Heavy BPS Extreme 7.1 reel and I think its spooled with 35# braid. Anyhow I absolutely sucked at pitching. Flipping on the other hand I have it down pretty good. So came across a video from our very own glenn and he recommended a 7'6". Which got me thinking maybe my rod is just to cumbersome to start out. So I'm going through my rods and I have this Kistler jig rod I got a month or so ago used which is a 6'10 Heavy. So the other night a pop the Curado off the BPS and throw it on the Kistler. Hugeeeeee difference!! Shorter rod equals me not dippin the tip in the water and the lower weight allows me to flick my wrist much easier.. for all you guys that pitch and flip jigs do you typically use 2 rods? I also have a 7' mojo which I've been using for frogs I was thinking about trying that at some point but for now I'm practicing in my yard with the 6'10. I want to gain confidence in throwing jigs before I attempt to in a tournament setting. Do you guys have any advice on the rod situation? And I know, practice practice practice! Thanks all!
  13. After fishing so many different shimano reels over the years and getting the new Sustain with xship. And feeling the incredible smoothness. Words can't describe how excited I am for these reels. Plan on 2 of the Chronarchs and 1 Stradic come Christmas.
  14. I have no complaints with the bass pro extreme rod. 7'10" I think it was 69.99. Actually I was very impressed with the quality since I ordered it online and never actually saw it in person.
  15. Sold! Lol gonna order one in the next few weeks. Thanks for input guys
  16. Hey guys... umm in a few months there will be 4 Chronarchs, 2 Citicas and 1 Curado in the Flea Market. Just a FYI Anyone know of any companies that take pre orders?
  17. I had picked up the 6'6" M/F *** for jerkbaits, flukes etc. I love how its IMO perfectly balanced. I have been using a Mojo 7'0 H/F for Frogs and the thing is just ridiculously tip heavy. Was wondering if any of you have a *** H/F 7' and up. Is it well balanced like their lighter action rods? Thanks in advance for any feedback. I'm figuring grabbing one for the hell of it. But figured check with you guys first. Thanks again.
  18. Yea I'm excited. I honestly can't tell a difference between these and the Curado. Chronarch is on a entirely different level tho. Lol but yea grabbed Em due to the price. Otherwise I really didn't even need any more reels lol
  19. Got 2X 201g6 from dicks today for $138 including tax. Just grabbed them because of the price. They're 100 on sale plus extra 25% off. One of my two was a floor model.
  20. Any pics of chronarch Ci4 surface yet?
  21. All those who voted yay were dem
  22. Good info. Thanks. - without beating a dead horse now if both are being very unproductive and recommend moving and he doesn't agree what does one say. My whole thing too is I don't know everything and don't want to sound like I do and do not want to be perceived as a jerk. . None the less thanks for the feedback.
  23. I have a 7'10 H I picked up for flip/pitch. After using it I went back to 7 for pitching. The longer length works great for flipping. Just my experience as I just started flipping this year.
  24. Lol I plan on getting a boat next year. In process of buying a house now money too tight this year...... with Sundays performance if he was putting me on fish and I wasn't catching Em then it's my fault. I completely understand I'm at the mercy of the boater. My main question which I failed to state clearly, was/is what's the best way to persuade the boater to switch it up? Or am I just stuck at his mercy.
