  1. My main point is companies skimp on the grips when making lefty reels. It's lame to me.i I'm righty but have been cranking lefty all my life.
  2. Ok so I love shimanos. But I have purchased other brands to try out. Daiwa aird, quantum accursit bc and spinning and a antix. Ok so I buy lefty reels, shimano has grips for the lefties contoured to your left index and thumb. And for the righties the same. So the quantum antix they used righty grips for the lefty reel where as the 2 accursits used the same flat grips..... Someone jump started a older okuma thread, so I was checking them out to see what's new, it seems they do the same thing on the reels that don't have round or flat grips. Hence the cheaper reels. So that's 2 brands that skimp out, may not be a big deal but it just irritates me lol little things like that steer me away from companies that don't spend the extra 2 cents. /rant Do any of you guys notice this with other brands out there?
  3. I bought one this year, wanted a cheap rod for one technique I rarely do, flipping, their 7'10 is tip heavyyyyy good overall construction though.
  4. The Helios is one of the sexiest reels in my opinion. However had a saltwater reel from them back in the day and it fell apart. I forgot the model but it was the one they made to compete with the shimano bait runner. Since then it seems they've improved a lot!
  5. brands: any colors: white with blue, sexy shad(strike king), black, green pumpkin single, double leaf: double day, single Colorado night time. willow/colorado/indiana: double willow with choppy water, willow and Colorado in dirty water, single willow in clear water, single Colorado at night weight: 1/4-1/2 Experiment is key with spinner baits. I technically have 8 in my box. 4 for shallow and 4 for 8+ft.
  6. Can't you just bend the blade in the new ones to match the old ones? I tweak cranks all the time that aren't swimming inline on retrieve.
  7. Just met Paul at our banquet, good dude.
  8. I'm prob one of the biggest fan boys of shimano on the site next to lmg who left lol all honesty bro buy a Sonora!!! I had bought one for one of my trout set ups and have only used it for bass. The reel is rock solid for the money. You could get 2 for the price your looking to spend. I had a older symetre, I think new ones have xship, anyhow the Sonora felt and performed the same. The only downfall to the Sonora is its orange...... *edit didn't see you already bought one.
  9. spider ez mono, Sufix elite and siege, are my picks. I'm looking forward to trying Seaguar Senshi soon.
  10. $6.99 dammmm I paid 8.99 each I think.
  11. Keitech Bluegill Flash paddle tail soft swim bait rocked smallies for me this year. ... That is all ...
  12. If u see any deals on shimano Jdm let me know! May have u bring back something!
  13. awesome thanks for the quick response bro, appreciate it. Just saw Tw is having a Seaguar sale. Gonna take advantage of it.
  14. I've tried it, didn't really see any advantage, other than the lack of/less stretch. If your ripping one through a downed tree or something like that would nick away at a good portion of line, it's money down the drain.
  15. Hey all, has any one tried their new mono line? Haven't seen any reviews other than sales pitches. Was a huge fan of Spiders mono until I had 5 bad spools in a row, since then have been using Sufix Siege which I don't like as much but it works. Really interested in hearing some opinions.
  16. I'm buddies with my local shop owner, he doesn't do much fresh water so I do all of my saltwater through him.
  17. +1 to what bass1980 said. I've lost lures to pike and pickerel before. Didn't even dawn on me. I have no prob swapping hooks. Was thinking about trying lucky crafts too. I love the Sammy's, would think their jerks are good too. Anyhow for 8 a piece on the RC jerks can't really complain. Thanks for the input guys!
  18. Blew a gift card to bass pro on a bunch of them today along with some other random stuff. Couldn't justify $25 on a single 110. Not for me anyways.
  19. No bull, I probably caught 200 fish this year Texas rigging white flukes and pulling them through cover. On the other hand I've never caught a fish on a senior t-rigged lol
  20. Thanks bro! That's a great find!
  21. I use 6# on my drop shot rig. Works great and I use a palomar knot without issue (knocks on wood) yet.
  22. when my club got their sponsor discount they were discounted based on $65 list price then shipping was $20 so for 1 rod discount was pointless. Lol but good point on lack of warranty. If you picked one up from a local shop and say one broke on first hook set you could prob return it where you got it. ...... Sorry for thread hijack
  23. I literally just burst out laughing. Lmaooooo
  24. +1 but I use purple gold old color pattern they don't make it the same anymore.
