  1. 1/2oz black blue flake football head 30+ casts for 1 fish, hung up 8 times smacked rocks on bluff about a dozen times. Looks brand new! 1/8oz green pumpkin shaky head 70+ casts, dragged, hung up on rocks and wood, 3 fish. If this picture isn't living proof of his paint quality idk what is
  2. Ok on the left 10# yo zuri hybrid on the right 10# (used) Seaguar Senshi they look and feel identical. Ummm isn't hybrid supposed to be FC and Senshi Mono?
  3. Random bump thread jack. I've been using 6# FC for drop shot but mostly just wacky rigged senkos. Rod is too noodley for shaky head can't get a hook set. Anyhow I literally have 40 break offs at a time. All that tension stretches the line to its max can't possibly good for the spool. After today I gotta find a new way that's cheaper I can't buy a spool of Invizx every outing. Tourney or not. Plus I have a few spools with like 20 yards apiece of FC laying around. Would 20# braid and a foot or 2 of leader FC be better? Like I said 9/10 I'm throwing straight senko wacky rigged.
  4. Didn't use it today, smallest violin playing in background.... Had a windy ass day went to casts whacked the talon and poof!! )/&3@,ed away a spool of AbrazX. But on the good note I'm spooling the Yo as we speak!!!
  5. wth did u search an ancient post?? Lmao
  6. me 2!!!! Had the GM of the Milford CT store do a full search in system none of the stores have em neither does the main warehouse of their .com orders. Only ones you will be able to find are the worm and jig, crank rod, and spinner bait. All in bait casting. Unless someone returns one were s.o.l
  7. I was referring to the avid x lol my sw combo is avid surf
  8. As far as these rods go the fact they now cover the threads is good. IMO if threads are showing with a reel locked down, then the craftsmanship looks incomplete and cheap.
  9. a lot of saltwater guys with big conventional reels I've seen do that. Before worm gears were common.... Dammit I just aged myself
  10. I cast with trigger between my middle and ring finger. Then reel with it between pinky and ring with index on fore grip or blank. I've never needed extra leverage to handle the rod while freeing it for a net or anything. Only time I may need to do that is on the fly switching hands like in my pic<<<<< with that said I now see where I could make use of it... But still think it's hideous lol
  11. I'm using the mustad double wide hooks size 1 in red. They suck so bad but cheap and I don't gut hook fish so I weigh that against the trokars. Plus on 6# I'll cast right into downed tree branches! takes courage lol just saying I lose tons of them. I didn't like the spin shots that much. Plus I go back and forth dropshot to no weight wacky. It's easier to just re tie and make a long tag if needed. Admit twist is a hassle.
  12. Well I'm gonna give it a full unbiased torture test on Candlewood tomorrow and Champlain for 4 days next week.
  13. What's the deal with the foregrip on bait cast rods I just don't understand. Dobyns/Powell is IMO the perfect look and set up for your index finger. Even my choice 13 rods big stupid locking nut to hide the threads. Spinning rods depending on how you cast is one thing. I'm not trying to be a smart arse. Someone please explain this.
  14. Oh it's not soft it says yo zuri hybrid fluorocarbon polymer alloy. 10# 275yards. $8 for 275 isn't bad at all that's around cost of Red Label
  15. oh no lol I use 6# on spinning as we'll I'm gonna slap this on a bait caster figured 10# is versatile compared to what I throw normally. In other words wanted to evaluate it with. Something I use a lot which is 10# good to know
  16. Wasn't the game plan from them Citica/Sedona-Clarus. Curado/Sahara-compre. Chronarch/Stradic FJ-crucial. Core/Stradic Ci4-Cumara. I figured by how the colors were all similar as well. I remember Dave Mercer mentioning this. I may have the spinning reels mixed up.
  17. Forgot to ask what knot do u guys use and what techniques (moving, trigs, etc). Thanks
  18. Hey a few years ago I said it was the worst line I've ever used couldn't cast more than 8ft on spinning tackle abrasion was terrible etcetera Well was at the local shop today that I got it from and he had spools for 8 bucks. He was like Dave we just got these in I'm like I'm not using that crap. But to my surprise he "just got them in/ started carrying them" through discussion he said the line he thinks I'm talking about is Silver Thread and he stopped carrying it around the time I remember trying it out. So I would like to apologize to you who I said the line sucks. I bought a spool of 10# gonna try it out over course of next few weeks.
  19. Claris and crucial getting the updates, Cumara updated last year, do you think the compre is too?
