  1. Prob just a lemon
  2. When you flip the bail the rotor doesn't turn to the 10pm position so the arm is in the way for your index finger. Once it's open it doesn't spin
  3. Ok so update... Got a extra gift card and they let me stack a bunch of coupons. Meanwhile my friend ended up getting the reel he wanted himself, so I grabbed a Plano, bunch of lures and line for him. However lol I did grab myself a Symetre they didn't have a Saros in stock. But for $65 i figured what the hell. Lol Symetre is kinda rough reeling, noisy, and when you open the bail the rotor doesn't turn all the way to the left like all spinning reels, allowing space to finger the spool. Is this typical with the Symetre due to the price point??? I know I'm spoiled with CI4s but what the hell? Should I return it and try another. Btw this didn't come in a box it came in one of the plastic packaging things that's a pita to open. Thanks for input
  4. I throw some weighted swim baits that look just like those for stripers in salt. Have had luck... Don't see why they wouldn't work.
  5. that just gave me a idea for my planos! .... To the OP when your friends come over and say you should open a tackle shop is when you crossed the threshold. Lol
  6. So who's tried Might Bite? Rarely watch TV just saw the commercial.
  7. See a deal right now on both of these want to snag one for a Christmas gift for someone. Is the Saros much better? Also do either of these have a worm gear or the disc thing? Thanks
  8. In that case lol A Citica G series or Tatula off ebay for around $80.
  9. The Brookfield side launch is Lattins cove
  10. That's awesome! Take her out to dinner!
  11. For a spinning reel I'd say Shimano Symetre or Daiwa Lexa in the ball park. Not for nothing the Quantum Accurist is a rock solid reel much cheaper. It's nothing to run home about but gets the job done. I have a Lews spinning reel.. It's built just like a Penn Battle but the reel foot is too big for the reel seat in the rod I was gonna use.
  12. thanks brother!
  13. Dude me and my buddy got threatened to be arrested a few years back at Woodmont beach poet at the end of Belmont. Mind you it was during the Bluefish tourney. I raised hell with the police (friend is a Leo) we got the officer suspended. They don't bother fishermen anymore over there. I Feel your pain I fish the same areas saltwater. This section of the CT River was prime during tournaments. The Blues have been coming up farther chasing bait so a lot of the canals have sucked that are south of the Salmon. Deep is behind us on this the point of the petition is basically playing politics and giving Deep ammo against CT Yankee.
  14. Thanks again everyone!
  15. Between RW and a friend of mine they convinced me to get Guidewear. Well first tourney after getting them that it rained, IT RAINED!!! Best investment I've made let me say.
  16. I picked up a powell endurance I think it's 7'4 mh/m. Works great for dt 10s and 6xds! Also makes a great spook and trap Rod. Only reason I'm mentioning it is you may find something that can excel at other applications and not know it. 10# FC for cranks and mono or braid for spooks and traps. I alternate reels so line isn't a hassle of changing. But if your focused on cranks get a 5:1 gear ratio.
  17. Awesome thanks! Guys you can sign this petition faster than tying a Polamar knot! Lol
  18. Please sign and spread the word. https://www.change.org/p/deep-comissioner-robert-klee-remove-ugly-orange-barrier-on-the-ct-river-in-haddam In a nutshell at a specific location on the CT River there is a canal that Yankee Gas blocked off. It borders a site where there once was a power plant, said canal was discharge side. Yankee Gas aka Connecticut Yankee blocked it off illegally before obtaining permit. CBN/ Connecticut Bass Nation is fighting as well as town residents and hunters to get this boom removed. The biggest problem is the company blocking off a public waterway they do not own. DEEP and other entities within state government are on our side! There is a ton of information about this on the web you can get with a quick search. All of your fellow anglers in CT would greatly appreciate any of you to help us fight and sign this petition. MODS if this is in the wrong place or I violated some sort of forum rule for petition, apologies in advance!
  19. 12# FC. It sinks! When I fish Footballs I'm making long casts and letting additional line out to get to the depths straight down. So as its sinking its not coming back to the boat, its going down at the point it lands from the cast. FC will help prevent the line bowing across the top of the water. I use AbrazX for these as well since I'm going to be in rocky or structure areas.
  20. The 735C should excel at pitching and roll casting jigs and trigs. Try backing off your breaks and cast control.
  21. I would like to add something for all the noobs and co-anglers. As a co-angler myself, in almost all cases you have to adapt to the boater. ALOT of guys Ive fished with over the past few years will pass through docks with maybe 1 cast to 3 slips or 2 casts total to a tree. This is terrible and in most cases these guys arent winning the tournaments. Theres been times Ive made 10+ casts to the same slip and got bit on the 11th. You really have to pick apart the object your fishing for a few reasons.1 being you dont know where the fish are at that given structure. You know theyre there but not where! They could be suspended, hugging the bottom, at a piece of wood or rock under the dock facing east and youre casting just west of them. You have to pick apart everything. I'll give a good example of a personal experience just a few weeks ago. We came up on a downed tree.We both had jigs tied on we started working in between the limbs out at the front center. I worked my way to the left and back he worked to the right and back. My 5th pitch 2# his 3rd 2#. Continuing on we started working into the most dense parts of the tree he landed a 5# I had got 2 more 3# each. The thing here is the biggest fish gets the best cover, so all the smaller fish are outside that area waiting for a opportunity to seize the best spot. Thats the reason why you may have caught a huge fish at your favorite spot in the world then 3 months later you go to that spot again and only get a 1#er. So always work your way from the outside in and get them out of there quick so not to spook the guys buried in there! I hope this may help anyone!
  22. Forgot to mention... I FRIGGING LOVE THE 1001!!!
  23. Does anyone know if they are doing the new model in a 1001 / 51 size? Is the new one identical to the Curdao I? I may order a few more of the 1001XTs around Christmas.
  24. Well heres the deal. I wanted something specificly for shakey heads. As I couldnt fish them efficiently on a BC combo and my Cumara ML is too whippy for hooksets and I run 6#FC on it. We originally decided on a ML then I thought about how I also would like to have a braid ready combo on deck for senkos in thicker grass. So we bumped it to a M. When he went to order the M blank was sold out. So I went on the site to see other options as in length actions. I came across the MAG line up. He said the Mags are like inbetween ratings. So a Mag ML would be best of both worlds in my case. We were on the money. Tube application was an after thought. Had a tourney yesterday didnt make a catch on this particular rod yet. But the rod is ridiculously sensitive. I don't think Ive handled a rod this sensitive ever so I have no idea what to compare it. Current spool is 20# PP with 12# InvizX leader. I did manage to haul up a large branch around 40lbs of dead weight. This rod didnt break a sweat, I can see my self swinging in 2.5# Smallies all day on this rod easy. It casts just as good as anything in my lineup. Would prob cast better without the leader knot obviously. Its all around a great blank perfect for 1/8 shakeys,3/16 spider jigs, even threw 1/4oz lead headed keitechs. If you are in the market for a blank like this its definitley worth it.
