  1. Do you guys have huge turnouts of non boaters? Here for example this past CBN 60+ boaters 20 +/- co anglers. Boaters don't want to be co anglers. So under the new format we can't have more than 20 boats because everyone has to be linked. It's basically making the state team stay with the same roster.
  2. So with BASS forcing each state to make pro am a must it's messing things up here in CT IMO. You guys in other states are you having issues with this in how you will form your state teams. We have more than double boaters than non boaters and majority of the guys don't want to downgrade to non boater for required tourneys. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Just sparking conversation....
  3. Inline spinner
  4. I've been replacing the hooks with the regular mustad round bends. Was wondering if the short shanks 2x strong hooks affect the action of the bait at all?
  5. Swim jigs I usually use a paddle tail. 3.8" Fat Keitech. Never get bit swimming with any other trailer. Pitching and getting hit on the fall or hopping it is usually use the rage chunk or craw...
  6. I have a couple of the square bills, I've caught a handful of fish on them, and I don't throw square bills a lot.
  7. Lol just with fresh clean water at your house. Helps prevent spread of zebra mussels and any parasites that can go fish to fish from different bodies of water.
  8. Fish stabilizer weights! Catch and Release powder! Good hook removal tools! Something to cut hooks! Clean live well every outing! All priority! Then: Medkit for yourself and guests Sunblock Bug spray Zip ties and tools And I don't know name of it but a new product you can charge via usb and use it to jump your boat should you have battery failure.
  9. Basically what I did^ Dobyns for reaction baits but 13s for all sensitivity applications. Dobyns 735C is a killer rod though!!
  10. I have a Under armor one it's super thin but works fine spring-summer. Cold days in fall I go for a fleece alternative.
  11. you try braid with a FC leader? Did you like it? I like it for other things not for flipping.
  12. Advice on jerkbaits. Go with the 5power 685cb or 705cb. The power ratings are different in each line up so a 5 isn't a 5 in flipping category. I own the 684 and ^ 2. The 5 is way better for 110-120 size jerks and squares, even shallow - medium cranks. The 4 is better for much smaller stuff.
  13. OP you check out the St. Croix Avid X yet?
  14. Me too, but bad spools and customer support that doesn't care wether or not their customers got screwed over isn't cool,
  15. For the love... That thing is sexy lol I may surf eBay tonight.
  16. I've never even seen that one before.
  17. As I stated... I've fished both. Own several Dobyns and fished a e6x for a good portion of a day. Rod was tip heavy. Lol that's all I have to say negative. OP you want more detail. I caught a few smallies on it throwing Keitechs. It's sensitivity is decent, Dobyns comparable i own is the 703, Dobyns wins. Otherwise it's a nice rod but it's not balanced well. Very very "average" would be the word. If it were my money I wouldn't buy it. The Champ isn't the greatest rod by any means but they balance extremely well which is one thing I'm picky about and all the other talking points I mentioned. Rod is new on the market, to hear more feedback from various anglers is just gonna be something to wait for over the next year or so.
  18. I want whatever you're smoking!!
  19. Thank you all for the inquiries and support! The kids appreciate it!
  20. So it's a mono basically
  21. CX is flourocarbon coated??? That doesn't make any sense. Is it a mono or flourocarbon? Lol or co polymer? Does it sink?
  22. Yeah they got rid of a few of my go to colors over the years. Xrap purple/gold is now hot steel. Can't get bit on it.
  23. I'm taking a ride to Cabelas tonight. I'll keep you posted thanks. I mainly want 10s and 14s
  24. Power bait 7" curly tail worm Rapala Xrap slash baits In general those are 2 I use and have success with I never see anyone using.
